Charging service renewal & Porsche Connect

Google Maps satellite view, Apple Music, live HPC availability data, when playing radio no album/artist images and no calendar sync. But most annoying was that I could not preheat my vehicle with the app and see the SoC. I took a ferry that same trip, and couldn’t put my vehicle in transport mode. So when the ferry took off alarm went on and the backend team got a silent alarm and had to call me.

I agree with you about the preheating, both remotely and navigating to a charger. I will miss those features.
None of the others are of any use to me. And I do not have the Porsche Tracking subscription. I use an Apple AirTag hidden in the car instead.

I get all the other information and guidance etc via Apple CarPlay. And much more accurate as well.

So over 300 Euro per year for preheating before departure??
I loath all of these subscription services that companies want to bind you to. I think the pinnacle was when BMW wanted a subscription to enable seat heating in the cars?? ?‍??‍??

My Taycan is 4.5 years old and I never renewed Porsche Connect when it ceased to be free of charge.
I obviously now cannot connect to my car with the App however my on board Apple music has always continued to connect and work.

I am about to consider renewing the Porsche Charging Service....and to my surprise the free option has disappeared.
See below the new tariff options (Netherlands). There are many alternatives out there, I do not get this strategy to keep pushing for subscriptions while there are too many Taycan issues that are not addressed adequately (software, updates, technical issues...).
I charge at home and visit sometimes a DC station during holidays. But with these tariffs I will give it a pass.

I will however consider the Porsche Connect service though, yet undecided.

Porsche has caused quite some Taycan owners an unpleasant experience (recalls, issues, etc.), however Porsche keeps marching on selling subscriptions that in my opinion should be extended for free (at least the Porsche Connect service).

I have no intention of using Electrify America once the free charging period is over. In California EA charges 64 cents/kwh which is one of the most expensive rates of all charging services. There are many better options for charging at lower rate hours of operation. EA is not competitive with their pricing and I am more inclined to use Tesla chargers which are typically at 44 to 49 cents/kWh. It’s not surprising Porsche/Audi/VW is dragging their feet to allow access to Tesla superchargers since the VW group owns EA. Their strategy has been to convert as many free charging customers to paying ridiculous high charging rates afterward out of ignorance or for customers who don’t care if they pay the highest charging rates in the industry.
Based on how many miles I get per kWh 64 cents/kwh is the equivalent of roughly $6/gallon gas. When charging at home the gas equivalent is $2.30 to $2.50/gallon gas.
At some point EA will have to compete on price with their competitors but until then EA chargers won’t be as busy as they could be now that there are limits on free charging from most EV manufacturers.
