I am traveling on to Long Island this weekend and i have no faith in the vehicle’s navigation system for finding recharging stations - any suggestions on how to map out my trip would be appreciated.

a better route planner ABRP (web or app) and plugshare.com (web or app)

plan your trip with ABRP - and check the charging stops w/plugshare (plug share is like. yelp for charging stations, they have recent check ins and reliability ratings).

and then each charging network's app - with account setup so that you can use the apps to activate yoru charging session if necessary

Practice DC charging at EA sites near your home before you start your trip. Practice initiating charging with plug & charge, MyPorsche App, and credit card.

I live on Long Island and am happy to report there are plenty of chargers - esp. EA chargers. It's safe to say you could focus on EA and be safe. There is even at least one Tesla Magic Dock (in Shirley) that I have used.

I use PCM (and My Porsche app) charge planner with no issues. I'd take the system recommendations, but research each station's state on Plugshare, often times an alternative station is just a few miles away.

Honestly, the DCFC situation is way better than it was 6 months ago. We're in the midst of a major infrastructure build and in 6-12 months the landscape will be dramatically different. Drive with confidence

Also the My Porsche app trip planner now allows you to select preferred and also exclude certain charging operators. (Also for specific charger sites too)

I have done this for known consistently poor and slow operators (EVgo), and it works well
