Electronic steering columns seems like standard feature for any non-econo-box car (some of those even have it), so it would seem odd for Porsche to remove it permanently. It is a vital part of driver profile and comfort entry-exit. Maybe Porsche is focusing on their strength of their race driving heritage, and will start making great racing cars with no luxury features? That might satisfy some customers, but I have a feeling a decent portion of Porsche customers actually expect luxury features, i.e. they wouldn't buy a Lambo with no A/C, hard seats, no infotainment system, etc.
As an engineer I resent any additional weight I don’t need all the time, that, for me, includes the electric steering column and seat adjustments.

I would include unnecessary “ballast“ like soft close doors and other very heavy “luxury” features. I consider most of them as twee gadgets rather than luxury though.

Yet another way in which my preferences differ from the majority I suppose.

UK configurator currently shows only GTS models and above have electric steering column. 4S and below used to not have it as standard, but IIRC it used to be included when Memory Pack option was selected (either on its own or as part of an upgraded seat option). That is no longer the case- there now seems to be no way to get the electric column on 4S or lower models. I think this change may have happened last year but maybe wasn't implemented in the configurator until recently,

Man the more I read the more amazed I am that my 2022 CT4S, a late 2021 build, snuck in with every single option ordered, nothing missing (electric column, two keys and a ton more in a highly spec'd out build) - recall even my SA was a wee bit surprised, given the timing, that nothing was omitted! Putting it down to a special effort by Porsche for delivery over Xmas (Dec 21) :) ... yeah I know, I just got lucky!

I wonder why my driver seat does not move back when I turn off the car.
If the comfort setting is enabled, the driver's seat only moves when the driver's door is opened to avoid crushing the rear occupant. So, power off and open the door (assuming the option is enabled and you have the Comfort option).

Hi guys, I got a trouble with easy entry. Let me summarize.
Six months ago I bought a ST 4S 8/2023.
4 months ago it went to Porsche for some update and heater change.
Some days later something seemed strange to me.... I noticed I had no easy entry anymore. But sorry to be frank, I am not 100% sure I had it as this is not something you use it, it's passive.

I complained to Porsche, they first told me they did not understand, then that they already had the case and gave me an appointment. I then went to them and was surprised the guy only checked the presence of the option box to tick in my menu. As it was absent, he told me my car simply did not have this option....

While I got the 14 way seats as well as memory pack and confort entry... I have the manual steering wheel.

I found some guys online that seems to have the same problem. What about you? Did one find a solution?

If you have the 14 way seats but not the electric steering wheel adjustment then that means your car got caught in the semi-conductor shortages one of which limited the availability of this option. Not sure if this also impacted Comfort Opening.

Don’t agree that it is passive either as it must be enabled to function. Does My Porsche App list Comfort Entry as an option?

By passive i mean you don't have to push a button to use it every time you drive.
The option list doesn't mention it. But as I know it doesn't existed as stand alone option so this would be normal ...
It also doesn't mention comfort entry while I got it 🤔

It may have been standard in Belgium so check the standard features list.

Also possible that you were one of the lucky ones who got it by mistake until Porsche corrected it.

Do you have 2 buttons in the boot - one to close and one to close and lock?

I got my dealer to contact Porsche Germany and they got it fixed eventually.

Think they updated their systems so that the car now ‘officially‘ has comfort access. And then my car was in again for a quick software update.

You have to be insistent with your dealer and explain that your car had comfort entry before and when you picked it up after service it didn’t anymore.

Hi regular,
You had the exact same trouble with same function? (easy entry, seat going forward or backward when leaving/entering car)

Two buttons on the trunk is good and means the car had / has factory fitted Comfort Entry.

Could be a temporary software glitch and may reappear before you visit the dealership.
