Hey everyone,

I live in Belgium, where government incentives and taxation strongly encourage the adoption of EV company cars. In this context, I am considering buying a fun EV (I am quite a petrolhead) that has already experienced significant depreciation but remains an exceptional drive. I came across this listing for a 2021 Porsche Taycan Turbo and wanted to get your thoughts.

Here are some details on the car:

✔ Exterior color: Volcano Grey Metallic
✔ Non-leather interior, two-tone Black / Slate Grey
✔ Porsche InnoDrive with adaptive cruise control
✔ Tinted LED Matrix headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus)
✔ Sport Chrono Package including mode selector
✔ Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) with yellow brake calipers
✔ Fixed panoramic roof
✔ BOSE® Surround Sound System
✔ Surround View
✔ Head-Up Display
✔ First registration: 12/2021
✔ Porsche Approved pre-owned vehicle: 4,565 kms

The car was previously used by the manager of the Porsche dealership.

I plan to see the car in person soon and wanted to ask the community:

  1. Does this seem like a good deal, given the specs and price? The listing has been active since March, with the price reduced from €150,000 to €115,000. I understand that there may still be room for negotiation on this car. Would you agree? If so, what would be a realistic target price?

  2. What should I look for when inspecting a used Taycan? Are there any specific issues with those late 2021 models that I should be cautious about?

This would be my first EV (and Porsche!) purchase, so I want to ensure I’m covering all the bases and not missing any red flags.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

1. I cannot speak to the price and defer to our EU members to help with that.
2. This example is absolutely loaded with a few exceptions that are not major: Not a Leather Interior and no premium BM sound and having 22kW onboard charger is higher risk since they have been failing.

My advice on inspection:

1. This looks like a CPO so car that is number one check as you do not want to have one without warranty.
2. 3 years old, so it should have gone through a 2-year service time point, check that.
3. Make sure all recalls are complete or schedule to them to be completed, especially Brake Hoses recall that comes a Brake Fluid Flush.
4. I would ask for the battery health called (SoH) state of health. I would expect to see a reading in a 95% ballpark given low mileage. However, to go even further, I would personally get an OBD reader and get the cell graphs of individual cells SoC and Voltage deviations.
5. Check tire condition, wear and age since it is not good for the car to have that low of a mileage after 3 years. For example, 21 inch Continentals are known to crack and crumble, I have them and see some of that effect developing.
6. Common failure points are the Heater, Radiator Fans, and 22 kW onboard charger. Also, all cars are now under Battery monitoring for bad cells. So check ARB6 and ARB7 recalls.

Looks nice but still expensive for a 3 year old car. The manager lives really close to the dealership with less than 5000 km.

Just checked on the Belgian site and lots of 2 year old GTS for around 100 k and 4s for much less. Even some facelift versions 4S coming close.

If you can live to with the older technology and not using it for road trips anyway and don’t need the extra range and charge speed of the facelift make them a crazy offer for 100 k and see what happens. 100 k still can be considered a lot of money for something where a new and better version already exist.

I think it is really hard to sell for them.

Personally I would go for a used 4s facelift. I would also check Germany as seen to live close to Liege. Much better specked and even lower prices.

good luck and at the end it is your money and your choice !

115K is too much, even though it has low mileage, it is a pre-facelift.
You are basically paying a big premium for the low mileage.
Even 100K is still a lot for a "regular" turbo.

As long as it has Porsche extended/approved warranty you should be good.

Our company in Belgium (Antwerp region) soon has a full option (full leather, burmester, carbon sport design, pass display, sport chrono etc etc) white mission-e Turbo S for sale, for less, with 21% VAT.
Still under Porsche (extended) warranty, leasing also possible, if interested send me a PM :)

Love the spec, gorgeous car.
They can bend a lil more but I'd go after that.
