If 2024 GTS is the facelift I'd go for it, more range, better tech and all options that you want. The next-gen Taycan will be ready 4 years from now so long time to wait.

Facelift is coming for 2025 MY in the US (so roughly in a year).

Facelift is out in Europe and most reviewers don’t like it . Also technical improvements appear to be marginal.

Facelift is out in Europe? I don't think so...

For a 2021 Turbo? I'd get over $100k for sure. But yes, a good +$50-60k after trade-in. No taxes on EV's in NJ which helps.
...
Market dropped for all EVs unfortunately; I work with a bunch of Porsche dealerships though, so the $100k trade-in should be very dooable - the bigger issue is it's still a $50k-60k delta to the new GTS.
A quick search online (like this one) yields 2021 Turbo Sedans asking prices of $94K - $144K, but most of them are under $120K, with 4 under $110K. Makes me doubt dealers would offer over $100K for a 2021 Turbo. Dealer shelling out $100K for a Taycan Turbo in the winter, the car costs then, $1K a month to sit on the lot, plus depreciation, so if it sits till spring, the car becomes a money loser.

Perhaps if the dealers in your area are still paying high, you could make some money picking up used 2021 Turbos and selling it to the dealerships paying $100K+, like this one, asking price $94K, you could negotiate to $90K, sell for $100K+. Do 5 or 6 of those and your upgrade to GTS is paid for. ?

Mine has 9,000 miles, not 48,000 :) That's probably the $10-12k delta in price that I'm anticipating. EV's also do a little bit better in the NYC-metro vs Oregon. But yes, I know prices have dropped quite a bit.

Actually NYC metro is loaded with used Taycans and other cars . you often get more in other areas where there is less inventory.

$50k-$60k for a warranty on a lower performance version?

I'm firmly in the "want what you've got" category.

Wow this thread still going…….must be getting to that delta where so much time discussing with a money value per hour - there would no difference in cost to change?

A swap for a different model within the same gen of EV yields very little. The .2 version of the Taycan is 2 steps forward and 1.5 steps back. I would hold out until there is an actual new model to consider…

Hey Alex:

log time since we've both been on the forum but I recall your Green Turbo very well! I thought you sold it nearly two years ago?

I usually dont jump on the typical bandwagon of old vs new styling as the new is usually always hated at first. However I actually agree with your sentiment about the new headlights look terrible! Please I hope this is not final. That said I traded my 4S for a PTS Turbo S in 2022. I dont think getting into a new GTS would be a step up. Id either sell the turbo and get a different car altogether or keep that green beauty !

Almost sold it! And the offers I had were above what I paid for it lol. Wound up keeping it - and barely use it - but still need SOMETHING, and couldn't bring myself to drive around in a Tesla, even for the minimal miles, lol! The mamba green car is still as bold as ever:

Probably makes sense to just keep it.
