I told them I would pay cost plus 5% they jumped on it. But lot'ts of others didn't so you won't get it from just anyone.

What did that work out to, if you don't mind me asking, as a dollar amount off of MSRP? Or as a % of MSRP?

Ps None of the Texas guys would do it even though I had a relationship with them. I love competition! I'm a capitalist. I don't need the dealer experience, I can read the Manual. And if you think they won't work on your car, think again. They are capitalists also!

I agree with you completely regarding dealership attitudes. I have purchased Porsche's all over, depending on finding one that meets my specs and price, but I always service them at my regular dealer here in my city. They ALWAYS graciously take me as a service customer. I even believe they may make more margin on service than they do on selling me my cars. So this has never been an issue.

BTW It works with all cars. Take the leadership! Tell them what you are going to do and don't stop until you find one that will work with you.

I think there may be discounts in the UK once the dealers open up again too!

Maybe on unsold stock where people have cancelled, but on new builds yet to be produced not too sure on that. There will still be alot of wealthy people who will buy cars like this no matter what the circumstances. If they struggle for months after this gets better then i'd expect discounts.

The other thing people will need to think about is finance on cars, if they fall in price i can see APR rise or be harder to get.

As far as I can see on other forums it's not the "wealthy" who are buying the Taycan - the buyers in the UK are like LFCdan said mainly all company owners taking advantage of the tax incentives on electric cars.

We are all guessing right now anyway - guess that's part of a discussion on forums, let's see where we are at when the dealer's reopen which for now I don't think will be 1st May looking at the way things are in the UK at the moment. All I know is that my DP was in a bad state and I don't think they will survive without big discounts after this is over.

I am a limited company outside of IR35 providing services, so i'm in the same boat as alot of UK buyers. The simple fact that you are buying a car over £100k means you are not in the lower income or even middle income brackets. We all have different circumstances and it's a case by case decision like people have said. If you can afford it you should do it as you are keeping the economy moving, if people stop spending it will only get worse and more people will lose jobs.

 My Taycan Turbo is here !!!!!!
But like elsewhere Michigan is basically closed for business so I can only come and drool over it till businesses can operate again. It's raining and a bit dirty but STUNNING in person. So much better than my garbage pictures.
Glad I stuck with the process
