First time buyer here. Interested in a 2020 Turbo CPO ( ~3 year warranty left, <20K miles). In carfax it has 8 service records in 2.5 years, 4 in 2021 alone. Is it a red flag ? I know first year model may have lot of issues. There is another 2021 4S CPO priced at almost 15K less (and less miles). Both have options I preferred ( performance/premium). Is 2021 4S supposed to have less issues than 2020 Turbo , or all bugs have be sorted out by software update ? Thanks.

The dealer will be able to print out and show you what those service records were. That should help see if it’s something reoccurring.

Generally, I wouldn’t buy the first model year of any vehicle (learned my lesson with my last Cayenne). But it’s often hit and miss, and it’s on CPO so fixes won’t cost you anything.

There were a ton of minor little recalls on my 2021, and 2020 had even more.

It was probably just that.

Get the service history. For example I just purchased a CPO 2020 Taycan Turbo with 29k.

had 12 services at the Porsche Dealership. Half of those were very minor things such as Key FOB battery life, customer complaints about latch inside dooris too strong and they pinched their finger ? the rest of the services were Software Updates and Recalls that had to be done such as seat belts anchor, 2+1 seat belt and the seat ventilation module was unplugged under the seat. Nothing of major concern for me. Having a CPO car basically means outside of wear Items, you’re good to go.

Obviously the dealership and Porsche would have reviewed the history of the car before CPO'ing it, so the fact that they pursued and then approved the CPO is a good sign. Porsche isn't going to approve a CPO if they have reason to believe that they're going to be spending big bucks for ongoing service during the extended warranty.

As others have said, the dealership should be willing to give you the service records - I'd still want to see exactly what had happened with it.

Was in pretty much the same situation with a 2021. CPO vehicle looking to be in fantastic condition, but lots of service entries in CARFAX without details.

Called the dealer where it was serviced. They said they can’t give out details because of privacy, but they also told me that the vehicle is fine, with no concerning issues, and I should enjoy it. The Person on the phone apparently even knew the car.

So unless they were blatantly lying (which I have no reason to believe), it seems fine, and I decided not to worry. If it’s a lemon after all, I have CPO and 4 years of warranty to deal with it.

I also got the CPO inspection records. There was one issue with a broken brake vent duct, records say it was replaced during inspection. Sounds good.

CPO has unlimited miles warranty so i'm sure you're fine.
