CPO Awaiting Battery Replacement

Speaking with a dealer about a CPO and they said they are waiting for a battery replacement. Would this be something you’d walk away from or good as I’d be getting a car with a newer battery?

It’s a 2021 4S well optioned and and priced at $71k - have not negotiated at all yet.

It is a CPO, so why not? Probably from someone who wasn’t willing to wait on the repair and bought another one

You are fine with CPO. But price is a bit high, what's the mileage on it? My 2023 CT4 with 3500 miles cost me $89000

Insist on a State of Health Certificate. If they’re replacing the battery there’ll be no more effort involved to do the test. Expect to see north of 99%!
The battery warranty will still have only 4 years to run, even if replaced.

Make sure it's truly a completely new battery instead of just the bad cells.

honestly, a battery replacement is like a heart transplant, too many thing that can go wrong with all of that apart. I have had battery work done on my wife's E-tron suv and the car was all problems after, under warranty, but a pain in the ass. This CPO would not fit my risk profile.

Battery replacement should not have any problems. In theory.

If it's a swap only It's one of the least involved replacements in a Taycan (There was a work instruction posted for it somewhere). Especially for a car that is a few years old I would take it as a plus that it have had the battery replaced!

Agreed very low risk higher reward in my option. This is simpler then swapping an engine.

My 2020 4 S recently got a battery replacement. The battery was a a 2023 re-manufactured battery. My range was restored and then some. I look at the battery replacement as a plus for the car you are looking at.

Consider if a 5 year battery warranty is sufficient for you to drop $70k on a 2021 Taycan

Porsche GB have just advised that Approved Warranty support is on a case by case basis.
