Has anyone made the direct swap?

Mentioned before but with prices as they are I’m hankering for an ST GTS and have a pretty decent(ish) opportunity to get one that’s the same age as my CT4 (just under 6 months).

Haven’t drive an ST nor a GTS yet but man maths are pushing me and I’m very tempted. Really invested in the electric world and loving the Taycan as it is.

I chose the CT over an ST due to nerves about clearance (I do occasionally drive on rough roads) but now realise this isn’t as essential.

Anyway has anyone done this and any positive/negatives?

I think you go with whatever makes your heart go pitter patter. I went with the CT with all of the performance goodies. It suits my eye, is functional for bad weather and roads and offers all of the performance at the same time ?

I'm switching to ST from CT. At the time I got mine there was only the CT. I am to really concerned about clearance because I very rarely scrape the bottom.

One downside of the ST will be loss of gravel mode for poor quality B roads or singletrack , the extra height and stiff suspension combination prevents bottoming out over undulations and big camber variations. I occasionally end up on these roads (rural Scotland and Islands) so will just have to take it slower and perhaps use lift mode.

Don't overthink it, JFDI. You'll love it :)

(Dealers have plenty. Pop down for a test drive and you'll be sold).

Not made the swap but I doubt you'll notice the difference made by 20mm additional clearance.

With air suspension you can raise the ride height which comfortably accommodates most UK hazards - sleeping policemen and a slightly rutted road.

ST all day long if only for the aesthetics. You'll love the GTS - ideal if it has rear axle steering too and then you'll have the perfect setup.

Thanks - the one I've been discussing doesn't have the rear steering - but I've noticed one has appeared on the approved list since yesterday (been checking and comparing tonight) which actually does have it along with lots of other extras (HUD, Burmester, VLC, PDCC, PSCB) and is only £2k more. Only negative is white calipers and I really don't like them. The one I've been offered a decent deal on has other stuff I'd like (rear bike prep, black calipers) but the one above seems a fantastic price for the spec.

I primarily drive at medium height on the CT and just use high/lift when needed which is pretty rare. So sounds like I should be OK.

As it stands, I intended to swap to a Macan EV 4s back end of 2025 but am now thinking doing this and sticking with a Taycan for a good few years.

I have had the rear bike prep on both my Taycans and never used it primarily because I refuse to pay the extortionate price for the rear cycle carrier.

I have PSCB on my GTS but rather than the standard white calipers went black. It does look better. So both cars you are looking at have PSCB, right?

VLC - fairly rare and fairly pointless imho.

PDCC - non essential too and unlikely you'd feel the benefit.

Burmester - not a deal breaker over Bose.

That said and all other things being equal the cost of these extras on a new car is easily £15K and so for a £2K uplift is clearly a bargain.

Yeah that’s it - the cost of the extras for a small difference makes it a lot more attractive.

it’s just the second one that has PSCB - the other just has the high gloss black callipers from what I can see. As a Wednesday fan I try and veer away from red!

Realised last night though that the first one doesn’t have adaptive cruise. This is a bit of a deal breaker for me and does push me to the higher spec one but not sure I’ll get the same deal. Going to phone this morning. Am I right that ACC can’t be added after via FOD?

The higher spec one also has rear screens - can they be removed or are they fixed?

Hadn’t considered the bike rack price. Good point.

ACC requires hardware and is factory fit. The addition of Innodrive can be FoD. Personally, I would skip ACC - problematic and you'll inevitably disable some features.

Rear screens should be removable but check. Again another pointless option.

Souns like this was a fully loaded demo.

22kW AC is a worthy differentiator if either car had this option.

Thanks for this ?

Yes it’s got the 22kw option. Does seem really high spec and a month newer than mine and still only 2k miles (altho suspect this may be higher). It does say used as opposed to demo on the site but I’ll be asking.

I use ACC a lot to be honest. Have on all cars so I do prefer that option. Will ask re screens then. Don’t have kids nor will I have rear passengers but that won’t be a problem if not.

Fingers crossed then. At least I do have figures and a decent option if not even if at sacrifice of ACC (if I did that)

I admit I’m a bit confused about this. Is there some British code of assorting weekdays to colors, or?

oh, and the higher spec definitely sounds like the better alternative.
Sorry, forgetting this isn't just a UK site!

You're right, they've confirmed it is.

Car is £63k less than OTR at build in December 2023! Appreciate this wouldn't have been the price paid and would have had discounts on but still. Waiting to hear back from dealership on a deal

Is there any way to check option costs from gen 1 models any more (just to check a few things)?

Hatfield have come back with a great deal, in fact making it cheaper than the one I was originally looking at despite the spec being ridiculously higher as well! Still took a hit on the CT4 (£70k trade, £90k paid) but that's way better than I thought, for example Motorway is quoting £54k! And given the GTS had a book price of over £60k more than I paid for mine, its a bit of a no brainer.

Dreading telling the mrs.
