Here’s my deal. On cold mornings I get an irritating rattle from the oval LCD dashboard. If I pull on the right edge, it stops.

The fix here is obvious; tighten things up and/or pad with felt.

I took it in this morning to have a Porsche shop fix it and of course, it stopped happening on the way there. Presumably the car warmed up enough to stop the issue.

Unfortunately they can’t fix without a repro as they need to send a video to Porsche.

To their credit they offered to keep the car overnight, let it chill and repro the fault etc. I don’t think I want to be out of my car for this; I’d rather just fix it myself.

Worst case I can jam some kind of felt down in the crack behind the panel to stop it. I’d rather do it right though and safely disassemble/pad/tighten the panel.

Has anyone done any work on this that can point me to safe disassembly instructions?

I had a very very similar issue. Creaking from the left side of the dash display. If I pulled it forward it would stop. My temporary fix was a stack of 3 round felt pads you put on the bottom of chair legs, jammed in the gap behind the display.

After two attempts my OPC fixed it with some hidden padding, so sorry I can’t help with your request for a proper fix.

Yep that sounds exactly the same.

I was thinking of a similar fix to your temporary one, jamming some kind of felt in there (preferably non adhesive) to stop the audible vibration.

Did your temp fix fail to work, or did you just want a cleaner repair? (I was thinking the felt would be out sight back there)

maybe harder if you have HUD.
I had a similar rattle a while back, and followed steps similar to the YouTube video to remove the instrument panel. I attached adhesive felt behind the lower corners where it looked like it was touching the dash, being careful not to put it too close to the edge (in which case you can see it from below). That fixed it for me.

My fix worked perfectly. Just wanted it sorted properly, which I got done alongside some other things.

they damaged the leather around the HUD casing, which was massively annoying, but perhaps that meant they only needed to pop off that cover and could fix from there without a dash removal.

Was yours easily reproducible? Mine is 100% reproducible until today when I took it in, which was frustrating. Assumption here is cold car in the morning exhibits the problem, 45 mins driving with the heat on alleviates it.

It took about 30 minutes before it would start usually. So for me, more about ‘warming up’. I found it easier to reproduce in sport plus and to find a rough road surface that created high frequency vibrations. Or it was around 80mph on the motorway.

I have the same thing in my Red j1.2 RWD since delivery (was a service loaner for 5k miles then i got it)
Tried to have them to fix it twice, they couldn't hear it, car is ending the lease this month and my Turbo S doesn't have this issue because the dash materials are different i assume, i guess it's a build issue that most cars have.
