Dashcam Permanently On?

Just installed a transcend dash cam but noticed I can connect to it via my phone and view it live on my drive when the cars off. Is this normal ?

It depends how/where you connected it ? fuse box ? It could be normal with the right connection.

Sorry 12v socket in arm rest

That obviously means that the 12V socket is permanently live which is very unusual on an ICE vehicle as it means any electrical device left in the socket will significantly increase the battery drain. It's less critical on the Taycan as the 12V battery is supported by the traction battery even when vehicle is shut down, but still a strange thing to do imo!.

This is the parking surveillance mode. I can watch around my car 24/7 via the app via the dashcam. That is normal I think otherwise you don't buy a dashcam.

It might be normal now but my previous dashcam certainly didn’t have a battery.
