Dealer advised this noise was normal?

Hi all,

My Taycan makes this chirping noise regularly and its pretty loud. Purchased the car about 2 months ago and its made it since purchase. Its back with the dealer at the moment, because the heater is broken along with a few other things and they've advised me that this noise is normal and that it is the car looking to connect to the remote key.

Does anyone else experience this? It doesn't sound right to me that a car should constantly be making this noise without there being some sort of fault. Never had it in any other car with keyless entry. Frequency varies but it can go off as often as every couple of minutes.

Its louder in person that it sounds on the video.

I don’t have that polling sound. That’s not normal, sound like a relais click of an indicator.

It is normal (in the sense I have it) - I have had that since the car arrived and even on loaners from Porsche the noise comes intermittently…

I've never heard that noise in 9 months of ownership. Not even when the car could not find the key on a couple of occasions.

My car never made this noise in two years of ownership until the dealer carried out the PCM update (to the coloured buttons) just before Christmas and I've heard it a couple of times since then.

I have that sound and it's been present since I got the car in mid 2021. I've also heard it in other Taycans that I've had for loan so I personally don't worry about it since everything is working fine. Not sure what it is though and I haven't figured out what triggers it...or why?

I have had this sound a few times. And I knew it was not a problem because I had the same sound in my previous car (Audi E-Tron). It's just searching for the key. When you get that sound next time try and put the key in the front cupholder. Usually goes away then.

The Taycan is based on the same MIB3 system as the e-tron and guess the handeling of keys and so on is the same.

I have driven 4 different Taycans and I have collected my GTS in the last 2 weeks. I drive without music a majority of the time. They all made that noise.

I have noticed that a majority of people saying they have that noise are uk based. So maybe it’s something in RHD models

Does seem to be the right hand drive cars that are having the issue mostly.

Going to press the dealer for a fix, not happy with a car that's meant to be high quality making noises like this constantly every time I drive it. I like to drive without music as well but can't as I need something to drown this noise out. Will let you know how I get on.
