I've heard that you never want to be offered a hat at a car dealership!

Maybe this applies more to mainstream cars than Porsche, but what I heard is if a salesman really managed to screw you over he will gift you a hat and parade you around so all his buddies know he hosed you!

once bought an H2 Hummer - i paid extra for the tire to be mounted on exterior (versus taking up the 'seventh seat' of space in the third row) - and was told i'd get a Tire cover. Nearly had to fight them at pick up for the tire cover. Not joking, was embarrassing
