I’ve just received a mixed update from my dealer.Vesselfinder.com showing both ships still in port surely dealer must have some info or maybe not but seems Porsche are losing the plot re -communications
Seems a lot of us are pinning our hopes on a sailing from Emden to Grimsby. I just wish I had confidence if there was a sailing that my vehicle would be on the vessel, rather than dockside still awaiting semiconductors.
I’m planning to contact my dealership tomorrow to understand if the export block has been removed. If not, I’d bank on it being at least a further fortnight before it sails.
Hope not July as will be nearly 2023 model year due , do you know if it is affecting all Taycan ModelsI’ve just received a mixed update from my dealer.
While I won’t go into specifics, there are hundreds of Taycans currently sat at Emden apparently, each with an export block on them, all of which are destined for the UK and currently missing the TPS components. These are starting to move, with one of those waiting to be shipped to my dealer having had the block removed in recent days. Sadly, it wasn’t mine. However, my take from this is that parts are slowly coming through again from backorder but, the sheer backlog of vehicles requiring attention means this is going to be a drawn out process. As to when a vehicle is deemed next in line to receive the parts, there seems little logic to it. My recommendation would be to keep checking in with your dealer for updates. I’m left thinking my vehicle could arrive in March, but could have an equal chance of arriving in June/July. All of which is a bit pathetic on AG’s part.
I not for a minute suggesting delayed vehicles expected in Jan will now be delivered in July. However, once we’re into a 2 month delay, which looks set to be the case, confidence does start to erode and you do start to fear the worst. That some people on the forum have seen their vehicles built but not shipped for longer than 6 months does create worry.Hope not July as will be nearly 2023 model year due , do you know if it is affecting all Taycan Models
Just starting to lose interest in Porsche and half thinking what I should do next as July is just not acceptable
Hello GentsEMS Highway has just left Emden to Grimsby arriving Sunday 03.15 fingers crossed cars may be on the way
I understand but do I really want to pay £12Ok for a car sat in salty seawater docks for 6 months probably not ,so I am going to see what transpires over next few weeks before I enquire to see what my options areI not for a minute suggesting delayed vehicles expected in Jan will now be delivered in July. Congratulations Iain! Our loss is your gain it seems! Mine still has a shipping block on it despite the build having completed in early Dec. That yours completed build within the month goes to show there is no logic to it, at least to those of us on the outside.Hello Gents

I agree it’s bizarre how things are happening between orders. As I mentioned, I’ve loaded a ton of options on my car, so thought it might get caught with some semi conductor issue at the port.Congratulations Iain! Our loss is your gain it seems! Believe me, I’ve greater reason to tell the dealership to forget it than yourself Gary and ask for my deposit back, even though they are just the middle man in all this and somewhat powerless. However, the facts are that it’s a sellers market at present. With demand outstripping supply, forfeiting your order will just see someone else profit. If Porsche were facing a risk of orders being cancelled en masse, likely they’d do more. Even a letter to apologise from Porsche GB would have gone some way. The fact is, for every order delayed, there are likely 3 or more people who’d happily take an order at a premium. Is anyone at Porsche factoring in long term sales and brand loyalty in all this? No. It stinks of short termism. Will it come back to bite them on the ass? Potentially. However, likelihood is that if you were to cancel your order and seek to buy from an alternative premium marque right now, you’d be met with the same situation. Personally, if my car arrives in June having been sat outside at Emden docks for 6 months, I’ll likely seek to order a replacement vehicle soon after delivery, considering my new Taycan to be old stock on delivery. In reality, that will see me look outside of Porsche, doing the maths and then, taking into account residuals, probably buying yet another Porsche and hoping for a better experience next time around. And there lies the reason why Porsche don’t really care about the negative PR of situations like ours.I understand but do I really want to pay £12Ok for a car sat in salty seawater docks for 6 months probably not ,so I am going to see what transpires over next few weeks before I enquire to see what my options are
Iain, would you be willing to share on here your exact specification including extras? Like others, I’d be keen to understand if it appears to be a genuine lottery as to when built cars are released for export to the U.K. or whether certain spec items point to a greater rationale behind delays and hence the problem is spec specific. It seems we’re all being told the delay concerns the TPS, but that wouldn’t explain why certain vehicles are being released before others.I agree it’s bizarre how things are happening between orders. no logic whatsoever
