I recently moved to a 2025 T4S from a 2020. In my 2020, I turned on "Automatic AC Plug Unlocking" so when my AC charging sessions are done, the charging cord is unlocked. This switch doesn't seem to work for me on my 2025. Does anyone with a 2025 use that successfully?

For me, I've tried turned it on from the PCM charging option and from the app charging options. In both cases, it successfully looks like it turns on but at the end of the charging cycle the cable does not unlock and the option is off in both the PCM and the app.

I'm trying to figure out if this is either operator error and I'm missing a setting somewhere, or a software bug that maybe someday will get fixed, or a hardware problem that I can get the dealer to fix. Thank you!

I don’t have this option in my 2021 4S. Perhaps it has been dropped?

I don't have this option in my 2020 either. Going to charging settings in my porsche app returns: "not available at the moment" and has been doing that since forever

That feature hasn't worked in my car since the PCM software got updated to 4360. I'm pretty sure it worked intermittently before that, but I could be mis-remembering. You can turn that feature on via the app or in the car's charging settings in the PCM. Most of the time when I try to enable it via the phone it fails to enable. In the car it enables, but in neither case does it actually work, and the car forgets the setting almost immediately.

I've complained about this to Porsche, and I keep meaning to do so again. It'd be a useful feature, since we have 2 EVs and currently only one charger in the garage, to be able to unplug without the key when charging was complete.

I'm still running software version 3882 and at my 80% charge limit the charge cable releases.

Thanks everyone! Seems like this is a software bug. I’ll call Porsche customer support and complain with the (somewhat unlikely) hope that they fix it someday. This worked reliably for me on my 2020 and it’s kind of a hassle it doesn’t work on the 2025. @Voltaire - I have the same use model where my wife wants to plug in and now has to find my key to unlock it first. I also prefer to unlock at L2 public chargers so that some nut doesn’t break something trying to unplug me. Oh well, hopefully Porsche decides to fix this someday.

I don‘t remember seeing the option. I have been upgraded to 3885 and can’t find that in my charging option.
The setting is a little tricky to find. For my version which I think is the latest, in the pcm select Charging from the main screen and then select the gear icon in the bottom right. You’ll get this screen in the attached photo (the option is at the bottom). It’s also available in the app - select charging and then Options from the top right.
Neither way of turning it on works (it looks like it does and then turns off).

The option might be tied to the plug & charge option, which was limited to 22kw chargers (initially at least), which explains why I and many others don't have it, as we don't have the 22kwh charger option.

Don't think most people got any update to the ECU managing the charger, so yea...

I have the standard (for the US anyways) 11kW AC charging and it works. Wouldn't be surprised if newer software versions break this feature.

yeah not there. Even missing plug and charge and argued with my dealer. They are confident that my plug and charge should be there but should work. Need to check with EA charger to see

It’s not available on my car either. 2022 CT4.
Plug and charge is there for me though.

Happy to be corrected, but i vaguely recall that balancing does not occur while plugged in.
