I got a door ding that’s a shallow sharp dent along with a 5mmx3mm piece of paint chipped off. Dent itself isn’t so bad but the paint chip is atrocious. Anyways I got a quote from Porsche and it’s $2700! Seems pretty ridiculous. Anyone else have any suggestions in northern NJ area?

I think Porsche Certified collision shop can sand, paint, and blend a spot like this at a reasonable cost.

Maybe to rephrase my question - not sure what a reasonable cost is? I asked another local spot and they said $1k. Seems more “reasonable” to me.

My last comparable situation, a decade ago now, someone dinged my BMW very much the same way and I paid about $300 back then! Although I wasn’t in the US then and it also wasn’t a Porsche….

Porsche will want to repaint the whole door; which in switzerland can be between 800-1200 chf. I've never had porsche agree to sand, paint, and blend a spot, it's always full repaint of the part, as they don't want to risk paint missmatch. If it's for the hood, they will want to repaint the whole front preatty much, as it's even harder to paint match such large panels - literarly had this discussion for a spot on my hood last month.

If you want a cheap quick fix, apply a bit of paint correction with a pencil, so you get no rust.

You can order it from suncoast parts, in your color, or from porsche.

Porsche will also do it for you for 50-100 next time you're in service.

I had a similar dent last month. It did cost me 2k. With some Porsche tax added to your quote the price sounds about right.
