Hi,

I'm looking to cut my budget a bit on my 4ct and I'm wondering about the knob on the steering wheel. If you do not have it, how easy it is to change the mode. Is the Sport mode plus only available on the steering wheel and not on the cockpit?

Thanks!!

It's a bit of an annoyance to change modes without the knob (chrono) plus the lack of sport+.
Changing modes requires: car button > drive > mode select > select.

Sport can be activated via console screen on non-chrono equipped vehicles.

I have seen on this forum that you need Chrono to access Sports Plus. However, I believe (from my test drive) that you can access this on the touch screen as well but you have to change the Chassis option also.

I use the sportchrono select knob frequently. IMHO it is essential.

I didn't wan't the chrono so I don't have the selector in the steering wheel. I very rarely use other modes than normal so it is not essential for me. If I wan't to set the car in sport I hit the shortcut in the center console and use the suspension setting button on the instrument cluster to set the suspension in sport+.

I use it every single time I drive. I also think it’s essential as I would likely almost never use sport modes if I had to engage via touchscreen. With switch I use every drive.

Isn’t the drive mode selector standard from MY25 onward? Assuming you’re configuring a new one?

If you plan on driving in any other mode than 'normal' on a relatively frequent basis, then you definitely want the steering knob. I can't imagine running through the menu to change modes if I had to do that more than 1/mo. If you're happy just driving in normal, then you don't need it.

100% And if you're buying a Taycan with adaptive damping, then surely you use other modes?
