Electrical system fault/error

hi im currenntly facing the same issue my car shows electical error system and wont go into drive or reverse mode .. please what did porsche say was the issue or how was it fixed you response would really help thanks.

No everything was done under guarantee. Took 3 weeks. Mostly waiting for the spare part I think.

Hi, @Caraholic since you have similar experience @McgR has also shared is taycan wasnt going into drive or reverse did u have this also happened to your car and after changing the onboard charger where you. able to get a part number for it. im trying to narrow down my options of buying unwanted parts.

Mine was always operating. I just had the battery error and the car would constantly fail to charge on level 2 or 3 if it’s hot out. Also would only top out at 150kw for a few seconds then stay around 100 at 350 stations. Biggest problem is getting in the car in the morning expecting 80% and being stuck with 30 as it failed overnight.

Whenever you get an error message on your dash TAKE A PICTURE! I've done this a number of times, and taken the car into my dealer, who is excellent, and they have not been able to reproduce the error. They also did not see any error codes on the OBD. If I hadn't taken the picture, there would not have been any repairs. If you're getting an error message, this indicates that something is wrong with your car - Period. Taking a pic will show the dealer this is the case, and if they're good, they'll dig deeper and figure out what the problem is. I would NOT be comfortable 'rebooting' the car and figuring that everything is OK if the error is gone...

My 2021 4S has the 19.2 kW AC On-board Charger option.

3/2022: Failure to charge at home, car could be driven. HV charger replaced.

7/2024: Charge abruptly stopped overnight. “Electrical system error”. Car would not shift into gear and had to be towed for service. HV charge replaced. “Internal failure of the HV Charger control unit is not due to outside influence”

Today: Unplugged cable, got into car, another “Electrical system error”. Wouldn’t shift into gear. Powered off & locked the car, came back after 15min and fortunately could drive.

I simply could not recommend anyone buy a used gen 1 Taycan due to a fear of being stranded over a dumb failure like this that should still permit the car to move.

It’s painful because I love the car so much, the onboard charger is just been a total mess for me

This is on top of taking the car into my previous and current dealer three times to try and get Plug and Charge functioning. The first and most recent time, the problem wasn’t actually fixed. The second time, the surface advisor had no idea what the feature was and therefore it didn’t get written up properly for the service tech.
