My new-to-me 2022 4CT arrived Friday 3:10am, title arrived ~noon, registered by 5pm (barely, long wait!), drove this weekend locally, then fun driving this weekend.
(Composing this while daughter is engaged in an art project at Mass MOCA.)

Had just enough time for a state inspection this morning.
Returned to the car to find the error message in the title. Can’t remember the exact wording, but definitely the right (also shows up on center console display) and definitely Open not Impaired.
(That also means the left port is stuck, but better this than the reverse!)

Clicking on the steering wheel control upon startup makes the error message go away from the instrument cluster, but it still registers as open, and appears again upon subsequent startup.

I’m currently L2 public charging bc the rate is lower than at home, plus I wanted to ensure that the right port is functionally ok (which it is). Previously I had L2 charged at home on the left port.

Perhaps this will mysteriously disappear once I’m finished charging.
Will find out soon…
But I’m wondering if the state inspection somehow done something to cause this?

Stopping at the famed Massachusetts Route 2 Hairpin Turn so that our daughter could take pictures of herself and I could take pictures of my car:

Forgot to mention that my 4CT has the manual port.

So our daughter is finishing her art project and the Taycan was finishing three hours of charging after which a parking fee applies.
Nearly three hours on a shared ChargePoint L2 added 7% so I saved about sixty cents as compared to charging at home.
But the error message is mysteriously gone just as mysteriously as it first appeared.
Fun though to open each flap then hear the other flap lock shut!

I think this is what solved the problem, based on your first picture. The white Tesla infected the Taycan with a virus. When you opened the charger port covers in succession, it achieved two important therapeutic goals. First, fresh mountain air entered the system. Secondly, the Taycan was able to verify that it was no longer surrounded by potential disease vectors on either side, which lowered its overall anxiety level.

Since this is your first consultation, it is complimentary. But if you run into any other unexplainable difficulties, rest assured, my rates are quite reasonable.

Unfortunately any fresh mountain air in North Adams MA is contaminated by the second-hand smoke from the unemployed locals, who are also most likely to blame for the smashed screen on one charger, perhaps taking out their resentment at the out-of-town EV drivers visiting the modern art museum housed in what was once an electronics manufacturer that employed their parents among its over 4k workers (in a municipality of only ~18k total at the time, now only ~13k), and before that a textile manufacturer that employed their grandparents among its over 3k workers.

(By contrast, during a brief visit afterwards at the Clark Art Institute in more genteel Williamstown, no second-hand smoke, and all the screens for functional on the ChargePoint units, which oddly enough were seven cents less per kWh than in North Adams.)

The other possible explanation is that the black Tesla was replaced by a Kia, so perhaps the Tesla sandwich had been a contributing factor.

And please forward your rate sheet for any further inquiries, thx!

(In all seriousness, this forum has been hugely helpful. For all sorts of little oddities, often instead of flipping through the manual, I’ve typed a few words into Google, and the top hit is a thread at this forum with the complete explanation.)

this forum has been hugely helpful
When I went in to place my initial order and plunk down my deposit, the SA asked if I had taken any time playing with the online configurator. I gave a "placeholder" configuration code, based at the time more or less completely on distilling down what options various magazine/website reviewers had declared to be the most essential.

Then I started hunkering down and sifting through this forum in depth, which gave me the knowledge necessary to actually make decisions that I thought would be right for me, not for J. Rando Carbro.

There was an ensuing moment of panic when my SA emailed saying my order had already frozen due to it being PTS. I almost cancelled, but we managed to get in touch with somebody at PCNA that let us temporarily make changes, as long as they didn't impact the exterior color.

Said exterior color being one of the few things that the original spec ended up having in common with what will hopefully be beginning production in a few weeks.
