....... If it were a petrol pump, I would need to stand with the nozzle firmly in the car and without the hose trying to pull sideways.

After a short while it locks in place and is fine.

When I first got the car, it was driving me mad as I was struggling to charge without getting the red charging error light/message.
I even resorted to using a neighbours charger once.....just because it wasn't correctly aligned.

Could be a potentially failing port - I had this a year ago and needed replaced.
Even if it started to work after 2nd attempt?

Will talk with the dealer, but he’s probably going to ask me to bring the car for inspection…

Sorry to hear of your issue.

I have to say, the more feedback I read on the power charging port covers the happier I am that I saved $640 and went with the standard manual flaps.
I have a manual one - NOT saving from this. Received the same message, red light etc. Spent a week in service, the door-locking motor has been replaced finally. Unfortunately if any of the locking/closing system become wrong, charging will be not allowed on that side, although I could open the flap. Additionally I had this failure on the DC side, so only AC charging was possible. Just got back from a road trip from Germany that time... what about if this happens on the highway where no AC at all...
NOTE: It started like most of you experience. Disappeared the message for days, sometimes for almost a week, plugged in/out and OK, left the car tried again later was ok etc. Before died and did not work at all. This began with a contact fault, sometimes ok sometimes not than brake the motor (door locking or closing one).

Thx…never happened before.
My thoughts: maybe i should charge before 10% SoC? If battery degrade 10% (my theory since i’m not getting 420km at 100% SoC anymore), is it possible that SoC was too low?
No. I frequently drive below 10% without a charging issue either from 1%. -Of course I charge immediately when reaching these low SOCs.

I just came home with 10%SoC, wanted to charge as usual, red error displayed: charging not possible.
I locked & unlocked the car, tried another (passengers’) port. Same error.
I sit into the car, switched it on, made photos below.
Then, I locked the car again, went into the house, came back after few minutes, tried again…and it started to charge :whew:

any ideas?

some more info:
- outside temp +12 C
-battery temp: 22 C
- Last trip: 123km, 52km/h, 22,6kwh/100km

I find I have to insert the charging plug dead square to the socket to avoid the impaired port message.
Initially I solved it by wiggling the plug in the socket as I inserted it but then someone mentioned making sure the plug was square onto the socket and haven't had the issue since.... fingers crossed ?

Your car is new, so your battery health is still 100%.

Well, the car run 12k km and 6 months old. According to the stats battery state of health around 90-92% at this stage. On the other hand we have ca. 9% battery reserve, they say most of it at the bottom.

After 6 months, SoH already dropped to 90-92%?
I haven't checked mine yet. Will ask when I'll change tyres in March.

Hi everyone, just had the crappy error message in RWD my2023. Do you know if this still reported as one could assume that they improved the electric doors ?

Are you sure that the door didn't close while the EVSE was still attached? If so, power off, lock the car and reopen.

If not the you could have a charge port failure rather than a charge port door problem.
