Awaiting delivery of my CT4

Hi All,

I am purchasing a Taycan CT4, this is my first ever Porsche, and been a dream of mine to own one since I was a little boy I had a 964 in canary yellow against my bedroom wall. So as you can imagine it's a big deal for me, I feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas.

However the communication from the sales agent is very poor, was initially told I would receive my car at the end of March, but I had to follow up and only when I reached out I had a reply from the agent saying it's not delayed till May which is fine but not ideal so I found another one which they had it stock not exactly the spec I wanted but close enough so I reached out again to say could we do a deal on this one, the dealer then reached out again two days later and said he will call me that afternoon which he never did, the next day I received a call and said that my original order seems to have been expedited and I should receive it in two weeks which is this week. Again I have had no comms, I emailed him last week Thursday with no response, and again today, and still waiting!! I assume I won't get it this week.

It feels like after I signed on the dotted line to buy the car no additional effort is needed, I had to follow up a few times to ensure the additional changes I wanted to make were made so I really hope when it arrives it has everything I wanted!

I also never got a log in to track my car or anything, is this normal in Europe?

Sorry for the rant, is this normal? Am I expecting too much?

I thought it would be premium service from a premium brand.

Rant over!

I think it is very hit and miss. One dealership i tried to use wouldn't return calls or anything when trying to arrange to see a salesman. At their sister dealership, the sales guy (who had been recommended) was brilliant.

The other aspect that does seem to be pretty prevalent is Porsche itself communicating very poorly with their dealerships. No excuse for the salesperson not to call you back and just say, 'i'm trying to find out for you but i'm getting no where'

Track my car never worked in UK (for me anyway).

Are you expecting too much? No, the cars are bloody expensive and service should be comparable.

You're getting an excellent car - everything else is transient/second-order.

Congratulations - and excellent taste, too! ;)

Porsche SA's are some of the worst I've ever seen.

I have to reach out to them every time to get updates. Was supposed to take delivery of my car next week, and I had to ask him to verify the date, and it turns out it doesn't even have a ship allocated to leave Germany yet.

Then I had to call him back 3 times to get this out of him.

First of all, congrats with your achievement of buying your dream brand/car! You certainly can expect more from your SA, IMO you should never have to ask questions, they should inform you in time so you never have questions.

I don't think you'll get it this week as most Porsches arrive by train every Monday at Leusden (I can be wrong and note that yesterday was easter). They probably would have called today to plan an appointment for collection today, but maybe tomorrow because Monday was a day off.

Did your SA provide you with a VIN already? I was able to setup the Porsche Connect app a week prior to delivery and could see it parked at PON in Leusden for about a week.

Thanks for the info much appreciated! No I haven't received my VIN yet! I actually don't mind if it's next week or the week after I just want some proper communication.

I think remembering you saying a few weeks ago your delivery was postponed to mid-may right? Did you get a notice it was earlier than that?

Tracking in Europe depends on country. In Portugal / Spain it's simply no existent. My SA told me that but I also contacted Porsche Iberia (who holds both Portugal and Spain) and they said the same. You could send a message through your my porsche account and ask (Porsche Benelux? No idea). They usually respond in 24h.

Regarding the SA...

I'm happy about mine albeit I have to send a monthly email inquiring about progress. He usually responds fast and sends a screenshot of the internal tracking system.

He did call me when I got an allocation and also when my order was about to lock the first time.

All other communications were initiated by me because I'm generally better informed following this forum then them. I expected a delay before my SA knew about it because of the heater thing for example.

Next time you talk to your SA, ask for a screenshot of the order tracking tab.

He might have gas lighted you with an "earlier" delivery because his commission on the on lot car is probably not as high as your order.

where did you order? Porsche Amsterdam? I had pretty negative experience with them and actually didn't order with them, instead went with Porsche Leusden - had a pretty good experience there, although I did have to chase them a couple of times, but always got reply within 1-2 days.

p.s. the others are right though, once you get your car (assuming all is well), you actually won't care much anymore about them

By the way, it's supposed you to get an email once the car finishes production (at least that was assured to me) so you can add it on your my porsche app.

Mine should enter production this month so curious if I get it. Should be a strong indicator the car is on the way.

Had some good news today, the SA said that my car has left the factory and its on its way to due to the holiday in Germany yesterday he doesn't have further updates but will hopefully give me more details tomorrow. It shouldn't take long as Germany is our neighbour! Hope to be in my car soon!

I hope you had a holiday too. May 1st is celebrated in most European countries I think ?

Regarding your news, that's excellent. It probably has been handed over to the transport logistics by now.

No idea how many km those trucks do per day but I'm eagerly waiting.

My car left the factory at around the 21st April so it should arrive here very soon.

Yes it seems that its only the Netherlands that doesn't celebrate 1 May! Looking forwards to seeing the pictures of your new car when it arrives :)
