Spooky. I had my Chargepoint flex installed a few weeks ago and it is hardwired. The only difference I see between the hardwire and plug models is the inclusion of the plug. I think you could hardwire it but contacting their customer service seems like a wise idea.

should be able to hardwire the Chargepoint - ChargePoint flex comes as: NEMA 14-50/6-50/Hardwired - the differences are simply the inclusion of a power supply cable wired to the unit - I'd bet it's easy to just sub in some direct wire contacts - should be how it's done on the EVSE side…

Why not convert to hardwire? That pigtail on the ChargePoint can be removed with three lever clicks, it is probably toast anyway, then run power right onto those same connectors. Done.

Using a plug is just not optimal.
