Fix for speaker issues

Did this take care of the rattling with the bass from the Burmester? Got my Taycan a week ago and the Bass rattling is driving me nuts

It did definitely take care of the insane rattles that was a direct consequence of membranes touching the supporting structure so if you have the same issue as I then it will be a massive improvement. That said, there are still quite noticeble vibrations in the 70-120Hz range from the front doors at elevated volumes. I dont think there is a quick fix for this with damping material or adding some mass. The door inserts are just dont seem stiff enough

can you take the cover off completely? I assume bottom pic you posted where you can’t see woofer is a plate or cover over the woofer? What if you just remove it all together?

The bottom pic is from my rear doors, showing a plate. This was an error in my car, plates weren't removed. Thing is, you still have to modify the notches that remain after snapping the plates off, at least I had to. Same goes for front doors

what do you mean “modify the notches”? So you took plates off, right?

The notches that remain after removing the plate. They still interfer with woofer sispension

So my stereo shop in Dallas installed my Radenso radar system and ALP anti-laser sensors, and also removed the door panels and sound matted the interior door panels on 4 doors. They also did the fix listed in this thread removing the plastic brackets covering the woofer. It made a huge difference with the rattling. Almost all the rattles gone except for one rattle on passenger front door I’ll have them look at this week. I’ve included some pics of before and after.

I dont think we are the only ones. Btw. The plate was only present on my right rear door. This must be a QC matter

On the other doors that didn't have this, could you see where the cross piece of plastic had been snapped off?

And was the material under the plastic cross, plastic too? Or fibrous matting?

It looks to me like the cross is there to hold the material under it?

Interested as I'm getting a slight resonance somewhere in the right - I think from the rear door. But curiously it only seems to happen with the sport sound on (Bose system here).

my installer said only the front doors had the plate, and it looked to be modified, possibly from first owner? Bought my Turbo with 8k miles. He did give me 4 plastic pieces that said burmester, like a plastic covering over speakers
