I live in Florida so I didn’t add it but I do think that the resale point is a fair one

Don’t do it!! Waaaay to much $ for a base Taycan. If you can’t afford the extra 5k you should be MORE concerned with the massive hit you will take when selling. You’re buying completely emotionally and not rationally. Upgrade to the 4s and scale down some of your BS options -
-do you really care if all your passengers have temp control ? Seriously ….
-dump the upgraded stereo and get things people actually REALLY value like a bigger battery …
-I have a white metallic GTS on order and Went with chalk , it’s stunning

I hope you reconsider, best of luck

Exactly. Buying some of these cars is purely emotional as much as we want to think it’s rational at this price point, it’s not.

I have my dream build, but it's too expensive. I need some help getting this under $130k (130 is my max). I posted separately about Burmester vs. Bose, I still want the Burmester but recognize it's the biggest money suck on this order. Would love some feedback and opinions please! My freeze date keeps moving, it was 8/26, then 9/8, then 9/14, now 9/21....so it seems I have some time.

I am torn between Truffle interior and Chalk/Black (US), but I included the Truffle since it's more expensive so this would be the max configuration:

1. Loose the burmeister, if not an audiophile. I have it as had in my previous car but really not worth the price.
2. You really and absolutely do not need the ceramic coated brakes
3. Unless track driving, RWS is an absolute no. I park in very tight spaces requiring a short turning circle at work and even then wouldn’t need it

Personally I'd drop the painted Mission E wheels and the forced not needed brake upgrade. That saves $9.5k. Mind you the other wheels are not that good looking.
Burmester is expensive for a car environment. I got carried away years ago with paying lots for ICE, I listen to a lot of music at home, but found the limiting factor is the car, small space, some speakers too close others too far away and background noise such that, for me, you get shite sound in a car come what may and I have been cured of that particular waste of money.
I'd drop all the exterior options too, as the owner you mainly look at, and need to enjoy, the interior, not exterior IMO.
You could also save on the sports sound if, like me, you prefer a quiet car and will have it off most of the time. The electric charge port cover is a cute gadget but pointless IMO.

@ayoussef : i have CT4 (base price 98k€) with almost 50k options.
i didn;t think about resell value, i just selected what i wanted …and i don;t regret almost anything.
i have PDCC, RAS, matrix lights, night vision, 21”wheels, bose, olea leather, etc.
today, i‘d change just two things: i’d take ambient lights (just to get lights under the open door) and i‘d skip off-road package.

Has the night vision system ever alerted you to something you would otherwise have run into?
several times, especially during the night when i’m coming home. I live on a country side, with lots of deer, rabits, cats and even foxes. Few times, camera alerted me on a runner, and once a byciclist (but i’ve seen his lights by myself).
That‘s why i also always turn on sports sounds.
quite often i turn nightvision by myself…so i can see animals running away.

I'm going to politely disagree - I charge my Taycan (daily driver) every day - simply unplugging and walking away is one of life's little pleasures in that I never forget to close the charge port - I remember my 2013 Tesla Model S P85 - at that time Tesla still had a manual charge port door - when I upgraded to the 2014 Tesla Model S P85D they added the power charge port door and life was in fact better - again never driving away with the charge port door open…

you interact with a charge port door more often than a gasoline flap (daily vs. weekly) so for me personally having the vehicle deal with this particular issue it a nice luxury

you don't get this feature because it opens for you, you get it because it closes for you…

strictly necessary - absolutely not
useful - for me 100% yes - everytime I hear it closing as I walk away to put the charging cord back when it needs to go…

I miss this feature (which is not even an option) on my 2021 Cayenne eHybrid (and my wife misses the pointless passenger side screen - she prefers the screen to what ever $1100 piece of trim porsche puts in the dash).

carry on!

agreed! that is probably the most painless $10k there is.

I charge my plug in hybrid every day, sometimes twice a day.
I have 2 hands. I use one to unplug and the other to close the hatch. ;)
Zero problem ever leaving it open in 12 years of PHEV ownership.

There has been more than one example of the electric cover failing and leaving they car unable to be charged.
One would be one too many for me :)

Well, if we were all thinking rationally we'd probably be driving Prius's ;) At these price points it is, at least to me, more important to be happy with your purchase. I can't imagine a worse fate (car buying that is) than spending north of $125k and then regretting not getting some option.

Of course I'm not a very good role model since I spent over 50% of the msrp in options on my 4S ($161k msrp) and that was with the Bose and not the Burmester :CWL: However, that did include the $2700 Factory front PPF.
