Help! Total charge point

Currently just coming out of Paris registered an account on the total charging system and the charge just says charging not possible. Any ideas?

if not too late, i would try to unplug / plug on another spot there. and/or call them: they can reboot it remotely

Did you enter and validate your credit card in the app. Or did you activate your rfid card in the app
Or can you use your Porsche card ? Shell card?

Can you reach Tesla / Ionity / Fastned ? They seem to be more reliable than the Total chargers.

was that charger indicated in the navigator as one included in the Porsche Charging Services. In such case it should work with the app or the charging card. Unfortunately the TOTAL chargers are very much a hit and miss. I think I have been successful about 1 in 3 attempts at different stations, so now I avoid them. There should be both Allego and other services around Paris that could work with the Porsche app though.

I believe the "charging not possible" error with red SOC color indicates something in the car is faulty.

it got it a few times: a call to Ionity and a remote reboot and it always worked after.
Once we were 2 Taycans : both got it, so definitely not the car but the provider

phew. there was a Ionity 15 clicks away and I had 19 kms range....

luckily France has plenty of Ionity charge points -for me they have been the only ones to work right first time and charge at a good lick.

Was using the built in nav with charge points along the way - it stuck me into a very very dodgy charge station just off the Peripherique which I kept going at and then this total one. Guy in a BM electric turned up at the Ionity after having the same issue at the same stop.

Will jump from Ionity to Ionity on my return trip (Tours > Calais)

yes it was recommended by the app. will never use the app again after this trip.

I do use the app for preheating the battery. I plan my charging stops in ABRP and use them as stops in PCM. Or if the app suggests Ionity Allego Fastned EnwB I do use it. If it indicates a car dealership I or only 1 or 2 charger usually look for an alternative. Takes some planning.

Allego are off the naughty step too just charged at a Carrefour at 240kw with no issues

That is good to hear!
I have seen that Carrefour and Lidl are rolling out a large amount of chargers in France now. But difficult to see which ones are operational or just planned!

Normandy region had very few fast chargers. Last year I traveled from Gent to Deauville and PCM suggested a route using a single Lidl fast charger without any other fast chargers more than 50 km around and arriving with a range much less than that. I chose the longer route following the coast line and 3 Ionity stations available. But I think thing are getting better.
