Finally got the car to the dealership yesterday morning. Porsche had the car all day and said that they can see “Spotify deep in the PCM menus” but it’s not accessible through the normal view.

They said they think it’s as simple as unlinking Spotify and then reconnecting it and it should automatically re-appear. We did that and they texted me this morning saying it didn’t work and that they would call Porsche Global or International or something like that for the fix. They were able to resolve all other problems, so I hope they can fix Spotify.

Hopefully they get it fixed for you, but the native Spotify app is trash. You’re much better off using Spotify through CarPlay or AA.

I am finding that Spotify is not very robust. As it takes quite some time to connect, or it drops out. I quite often have to revert to Android Auto to use Spotify in there. Not a big fan of that as I don't think the sound quality is as good through AA. Not sure I can do much about it, so just living with this.

Edit: I should add that it is not affecting my enjoyment of the car. Still smile every time i am behind the wheel.?

This has been my experience as well, including reverting to the AA version.

*Update*

The Taycan has been at the Porsche dealership since Thursday last week. Still no answers on the disappearing Spotify. They've resolved all of the other issues, but Spotify is confounding them. It's gone beyond the dealership level and they are dealing with Porsch in Europe (I'm guessing). Nobody seems to have any idea how to get Spotify back into the media options. Really weird.

Reminds me of something that happened to me about 17 years ago. Bought a new Lexus and it was just stalling for no apparent reason. Lexus (much like Porsche) has great reliability so I was convinced they simply couldn't figure it out because they had so few problems with their cars it was hard to find some precedent. In the end, it took them 22 days to "fix" (not really) my problem and I was living in NJ which has one of the most strict lemon laws in the US. With a single certified letter, I returned my car as a "lemon" and had a brand new one in a matter of weeks.

Hopefully this doesn't go in that direction as I'm sure this should be an easy fix.

I would just use Spotify over car play. If everything else is ok I wouldn’t risk using the lemon law to change it for a different one. Who knows what issue that might have?

Just a little goodbye. Sold my Taycan 4S. Probably the best car I have ever had. Although software issues were always a bit of a nuisance, it was not the reason. My main frustration was the charging on long scenic trips in BC and Alberta (and North-West USA). Usually travelling in groups with ICE Porsches, I was the one who after 350kms had to find a charger, take a detour, wait for charging (especially if there are other EVs waiting in line), do the charging (if it worked), etc. and arrive late for dinner. Having said that, when I planned a solo trip, I did do that with extensive route and charger planning, which was in a way fun too!
Anyway, I traded it in for a 992 Targa 4, and although driving it is a blast, especially with the top down, it is nowhere near as fast, smooth and comfortable... I will definitely go back to Porsche EV again, probably trade-in my Macan S for a Macan EV- as that is our daily driver and we have plenty charging facilities in and around Metro Vancouver. I still believe EV is the future.

Enjoy your 992. I'd never fault anyone for changing out their vehicle based on their needs or wants. Eventually there will be an EV that meets all of your needs/desires for sure. I'm hoping that day arrives sometime in the next 5 years.
