Many people are worried about range with an EV, but these fuel delivery issues have shown the situation is pretty fragile with ICE cars. I really appreciate the convenience of charging up at home right now, although getting stuck in traffic caused by the petrol queues is a pain.

(… and hopefully we’ll not be getting power cuts next!)

We are on holiday in Cornwall this week.
Didn't know whether to take the Taycan or other (petrol) car.

Decided on the latter, but probably a mistake as the hotel has 2 chargers lying unused.....whilst petrol stations sold out or long queues. Need a full tank to get home.

We're off to Devon next week. I am taking my wife's i3s ( the TT hasn't arrived yet ) - I don't trust the govt to not say something else to cause another wave of panic. Bringing in the army will probably spook everyone again.
In any event people are sleeping in their cars overnight in my nearest garage so I don't fancy doing that....these sunlight uplands are great aren't they....

Situation has been a total farce fuelled by the press (BBC in particular).

This is a self made problem with people irrationally filling their tanks when normally they wouldn't. Supplies are booked in advance plus monitored throughout. If selfish ICE owners decide to change their fuelling habits overnight for no reason then no system can preempt that.

No apparent problem in Scotland after a brief flurry at the weekend and country areas remained fine.
