When I drive the car, I just enjoy the quality of the ride, rarely touch the screen except for the audio.
When you drive it. That is the point. For some of us DRIVING it is impossible because of glitches.

I wish you weren’t having problems that prevent you from driving the car, but as I said earlier, Lemon Laws were created for reason. If you qualify, then I suggest you take advantage of them.

yes - prices are lower for all used cars - and EV's have been suffering a pricing war - 107 for trade in seems about right - I'd consult cars.com to see what asking prices are for Taycans.
I believe that the falling secondhand prices of the Taycan can be attributed to the following factors:
  • The market for high-priced EVs is limited. Most people who are willing to spend over $100,000 on an electric car want a new one, not a used one.
  • The Taycan has been on the market for a few years, and there is now a large number of them coming off lease (e.g. 2-3 years after the big surge in Taycan sales). This is flooding the secondhand market with Taycans, which is driving down prices.
  • Porsche's larger vehicles (Panamera and Cayenne) have historically depreciated rapidly. This suggests that the Taycan may also depreciate quickly, as it is a large and expensive car.
I think it is still too early to say for sure how the Taycan will hold its value over time. However, the factors I mentioned above suggest that it is likely to depreciate more than other Porsche models, such as the 911.

Pretty much every interaction I have with any company as a customer these days, I get offered some sort of feedback questionnaire. I virtually never fill them out unless I have something extremely negative to say, or if somebody really went out of their way to help me out far beyond the call of duty. I never write "met expectations, works fine", and I don't think I'm alone here.

I figure there are plenty of satisfied Taycan owners that would rather do other things than tell us that.
met expectations, works fine. ‘22 TS, 10K miles

Hello Bobby,

I apologize that you're facing this issue with the persistent red circle, which appears to be quite concerning. ?

Can I be candid without causing offense? A couple I know just returned from their honeymoon in Hawaii and labeled it a paradise. They mentioned it should be a once-in-a-lifetime destination, as nothing can truly match the unique and breathtaking experience of Hawaii. These very words also capture the essence of the Porsche Taycan. You probably see where I'm headed with this. ? Imagine a stunning car on an exotic island.

Allow your dealer some time to address the situation – I'm confident they will. Meanwhile, they're offering a Macan for your use, not quite a Taycan, I know.

Porsche ventured into EVs fairly recently, starting around 2015. At 75 years old, ⚡? is a novel concept for the company, its staff, and its clients.

If you exhibit patience, kindness, and understanding as a valued customer, they're likely to reciprocate. I'm optimistic they'll resolve the issue with your car.

I'm in the process of finding the right Taycan to purchase and aiming to make it to Hawaii before retiring. It seems you've accomplished both, and I applaud you. ☺

P.S. I recognize there are drawbacks to residing in Hawaii and owning a Porsche. I'm injecting a bit of humor here too, as our purpose is to enjoy ourselves and assist one another. My apologies for any negative comments – I'm the last person to suggest switching to another brand. Stay strong! ?

I love my 22 Taycan GTS and for the first 9 months I had no issues at all....

Now it seems I am always getting the

RED circle warning....
Pull over to a safe place and exist the vehicle

This is literally the7th time I have gotten this message in the past 3 months
and I have to either plug it in or wait for it to reset in about 20 minutes

But when you need to go somewhere and this happens its like F*&%K

So decided this car is just too unreliable and going to trade it in for a Macan

I don't understand something, or I may have missed it. I realize you're far from the Porsche shop, but has anyone looked at it at all? Like, if it's a Lemon I think it has to have had a failed repair a certain number of times, depending on state laws. If you can't ever take your Porsche in for any service ever, how can you own one, no matter how reliable? I ask because I just want to know if I eventually get this red circle of doom I have a shot at getting it fixed at my highly reputable Porsche shop.

I'm a first-time Porsche owner, but decades-long dreamer, so it's not like Porsche had to drag me in or anything. I just had to save up and wait for the perfect car to come along at the right time and the Taycan was it. Knock on my Paldao wood, no serious problems here, but wonky stuff all the time that I still laugh at. My standards are probably low, or I still think I'm dreaming when I step into the car, so I just don't take anything seriously.

I will properly freak out if it breaks down or has a safety issue, though. ?

Yep happens all to often I have had several Porsches over 35 years and currently on my 2nd Taycan which will be my last Porsche ever as had enough also with the brand and dealer network.
Some folks have been very lucky with no issues however they are in the minority the car is one of the best looking on the road and put together well. However reliability is horrific as is the resale value now as the trade are fully aware how unreliable the car is. I think a Dacia will be more reliable than my lemon Taycan Turbo piece of crap

Awaiting nee car delivery Range Rover awaiting 12 month so far
You’re upset about poor reliability and your solution is to buy a Range Rover? Do you remember that old saying about the pot and the kettle?

BTW, if you read the polls on here, you’d realize that the folks with no issues are NOT the minority. We’re the vast majority of Taycan owners.

Is it just me or does it seem to be Turbos most often the lemons…?

Bad luck. It doesn’t diminish your experience but the vast majority are having no problems. It’s misleading because people having problems post their problems on this forum.

I had minor niggles with a 2020 4S but was never inconvenienced. My 2022 GTS has been faultless apart from depreciation!

Depreciation in UK is due to 2nd hand oversupply caused by massive tax incentives to buy new over and over again. Not unreliability issues.

Echoing above…. DONT buy a Range Rover. Massively over designed, over priced, over complicated pile of totally unreliable dog shit that drives like an overladen Transit van and is hopelessly inefficient.
Going from Taycan to RR like taking off Nike trainers and going for a run in hob nail, steel toe cap boots.
My mates RR has spent longer in the workshop than on the road in 18 months. More than one 3 month stay.

Let us know your dealer. If you’re not going back to Porsche then call them out. Worth knowing less reliable dealers.
My dealer, Porsche Bolton has always been super friendly and helpful.
The 4S niggles were dealt with very well and quickly

Actually the majority of cars have no, or small problems.
Things always look worse on forums since many people only even look for one if they have a problem. Sad people like me using a forum for interest are not normal buyers.

I think the depreciation being so high has less to do with the reliability record than the number of cars coming to the end of their lease chosen because of government nicentives which distorted the market.

Other than to take my 2022 CT4 in for the two scheduled dealer installed updates (alarm system and software update that gave us colored icons), I have had zero issues with my car in almost two years of ownership. I had a Range Rover once. Just once, never ever again.
