Not happening. With how many battery recalls taycan has had, they probably already regret even offering warranty

I wonder if you keep paying for porsche approved warranty if it covers the battery too. Would be very stupid if it didn't, basically the same as a 911's engine not being covered.
Actually, the Porsche branded extended warranty for the Taycan does NOT cover the big HV battery. It does cover air suspension, adaptive cruise, electronics etc - but not the main battery. Of course, the battery itself has factory warranty up to 8 years and iirc 100k miles, but it is interesting that it doesn’t fall under the Porsche extended warranty. This was from when I was considering extended warranty for my 911 and the taycan.

my wish list:
(1) Cross Turismo 4 with all-metal roof (not possible in USA), as standard in Macan/Cayenne.
(2) heated windshield (like option in Cayenne/Macan).
(3) dual sun visors for both front seats (as standard in Cayenne).
(4) better infrared ("NIght Vision") camera, with wide-angle lens (instead of current narrow-angle lens) and mounted atop front windshield (instead of low-down near the ground).
(5) remove the silly air ducts/vents on front sides behind the front wheels, which can throw rocks/debris kicked up from the wheels onto the sides of the car.
(6) 150k-mile, 12-year warranty on the traction battery, plus CPO warranty as standard warranty from factory (i.e., 6 years, unlimited or 100k miles).
(7) one-pedal driving option.
(8) Decently designed center-console storage lid.
(9) manual (not electronic) center interior air vents.
(10) better/lower MSRP to gel with the currently-huge/rapid depreciation.
(11) normal door handles (like in non-BEV Porsches).
(12) physical climate-control switches (like in non-BEV Porsches).

If you could change one thing about your Porsche Taycan, what would it be? Possible answers:
* More interior room
* More range
* NACS charging port
* Sunroof that opened
* ???

My answer: Manually adjustable climate vents. :mad:

What I'd change:
- aircon physical buttons, for the temp and intensity.
- console storage: change the shape, make it stay at 90° and without that extension that blocks my arm.
- Make it a little less wide.
- Gimme the gen2 lighter and larger battery?
Otherwise... all's great.

Better noise isolation at highway speeds, especially over rough pavement. If they wish to make more money, Porsche could make it an option and charge more for it. Honestly adding 100-200 lbs or so of noise isolation material wouldn’t be that noticeable on a 5000 lb car.

Pretty happy, what needs to be improved:

* the App is bad and doesn't do much
* the fade over between recup and physical brakes isn't too good

What I really like is handling, ride quality, performance.
This is only possible b/ the car is wide and long, massive tires etc.m which in turn result in some of the listed disadvantages. But the trade off is fine by me!

I’d LOVE to see a GPS-triggered lift function that actually was designed by a product designer, not an engineer! (Think: Apple vs Microsoft) Here’s what I mean by that. I have programmed dozens of locations into my auto lift. None of them work as intended. It’s not GPS reception either. The tech guy at the dealership helped me figure out what was going on. It actually does work, but it was designed by an idiot. What happens is this:

• I approach a driveway (for example) and slow down or stop, and press the lift “button”.
• Car rises 2” and I proceed gingerly up the ramp, then the car asks me if I want to save the location, and I do.
• Next time I’m here, it does not lift as i approach, however slowly. EVER.
• It DOES lift AFTER the obstacle is crossed! (Sometimes)

That’s because the genius who designed this had it activate WHERE THE SAVE HAPPENED, NOT WHERE THE LIFT BUTTON WAS ACTIVATED! This means that you need to save it BEFORE the obstacle is crossed; an impossibility in most cases. It takes more than 10 seconds to get the ”save” screen, so you would have to wait stopped at a speed bump, driveway, parking entrance or other chin-grinding obstacle. NOT good.
In addition to this inconceivably dumb setup, it is VERY precise in its location, so if you’re just a few feet off, it will not activate! I’m a precise driver, but that is not a real-world situation. The fix is to note the location of the lift ACTIVATION, not the SAVE location, and give it a 10-foot radius of fuzziness.

COME ON PORSCHE! GET YOUR $#IT TOGETHER.

i dont like the auto brake function in reverse. My garage is on an incline and its awkward.

apart from that i love it
My driveway is similar, the day I got the car I thought I’d hit a wall as the brakes came on with such a force. But you can temporarily disable that, there’s a button on right side of the reverse camera display.

Would like to have better autonomous abilities. Perhaps subcontract this software to accompany Silicon Valley California.
The Porsche Tycan with Tesla or Apple FSD (full self drive)
Would be the best vehicle.
