Hi,
Cleaning my summer wheels for refitting next week and noticed that all 4 summer tyres are quite heavily worn on the inside edge.
Tyres have been used on the car for 10 months since they were new, and only covered 6,000 miles.
Rest of the tyre still have circa 5-6mm left.
Any recommendations for wheel alignment in Cheshire / Shropshire / Staffordshire areas?

Inside edge tire tread wear is one of the most heavily covered topics on the Taycan Forum. If you use the search function you will find many relevant threads. Personally, I resolved the issue by having the shop perform alignments with my Taycan in the same ride height setting in which I normally drive, rather than in default/normal mode.

Agree - that's what I'll be doing.
Most of my driving is local roads / commute - circa 12 miles a day - so, pretty much in "normal" height.
Porsche will give me a quote when I collect the car on Wed, they suggested £400 which seems quite steep for what I guess is an hours' labour and use of the alignment equipment.

I'm just about to change my fromnt tyres which have worn out the inner edges at 14k miles. I'm thinking of asking for the setup to be done in the Range (lowered) mode. Did you do this and have you yet noticed any difference in handling (or wear - but probably too soon for that)?

I think this is an occupational hazard of being a professional “low rider”. I spend a fair amount of time in the two lowest settings and am willing to take the risk.

Your normal mom and pop alignment shop cannot adjust the camber (the front tires at least). Adjusting camber of the front requires removal of the subframe. In doing so, steering angle sensor, as well as any cameras also need to be calibrated using PIWIS.

I am also going to assume there are some checks that need to be done prior to mechanically adjusting the PIWIS. For example, make sure car is not loaded, make sure car is level (obviously), these are just some of the things PIWIS has you check. PIWIS then probably sets car in the middle height setting and then locks the suspension (assuming you have air suspension). Only then, mechanically adjust the alignment.

Anyone else who tells you their local mechanic completed a whole alignment on a Taycan probably didn't actually perform a complete alignment as stated in the workshop manual.

I have read differing views on this but I actually suspect you are correct about front camber. That leaves only the toe adjustment for the front and I guess the logical conclusion is to measure that at Normal and Range suspension height and adjust to meet one's regular driving mode.
