Yeah we parted ways sadly. Went eSure, which to be honest were the only other gang (and I use that term advisedly when it comes to insurance co's) that would quote for me. Clean driving history and 24 years no claims...go figure.

Try an insurance broker. They should be able to do things like having a big excess, then insuring the excess to get the premiums down.

I tried a couple like Adrain Flux, was even worse than the comparison sites or going direct. Like double of the triple renewal premium. Year 1 was £1K and AF wanted like £5K.

Paid £418 with Esure last year. After 5 hours of phone calls they tell me I can’t transfer to their new system - so £646 with Admiral.

I have a great broker but they were getting ghosted when asking for Taycan cover in September.

Am with eSure right now (just over 1k). Hoping premiums calm down.

Just over a year ago was insuring a 911, RS4, Griffith, Caterham and XC90 for 1.7k, and thought that was lumpy based on prior premiums!

Given the massive reported depreciation on our cars, what amounts are people putting down as value for their insurance? Too little and that's all they'll pay, Too much and they wont pay the full amount in the event of write-offs etc. I know some insurers just default in their own valuation but when they do that, i'm not sure you ever know what it is.
This really important from a choice perspective too.

My broker noted that anything over 75k value was spooking places quoting.

When I renew (later this year) I'll likely go under that figure and will see where I land.

We're just replacing our old XC90 with a new one.... Premium on that is likely to be 750+ for similar reasons (75k replacement value).

Hmm, so much for that. Mine can't get close this time!

Admiral and Esure - Are people going direct to these guys or via comparison sites?

I just took out insurance with Admiral for my Taycan. It was just a touch over £2,000.. That was via comparethemarket. Their quotes were always cheaper than the other comparison sites, I found. I’m assuming my price is so high because I’m 26 and I declared my limited company as the registered keeper and owner, which I think nudges the price up.

But Admiral always won out as cheapest no matter where I got quotes from.

I've used brokers in the past but not for a very long time (think last was around 2012)

Always gone direct with both Admiral (in the past) and this time around with esure. Though quote was via a comparison site.

Am with eSure. Made no odds going direct or through the various comparison sites.

Watch out for some quotes having black box attachments (they can FRO on those ?).

My Taycan GTS was new in May 23, at which point I paid £1000 for insurance (£600 less than I was paying for a Cayenne E-Hybrid), my renewal is coming round now at the cheapest I am getting through Compare The Market is £4000. What the hell is going on?

£93K, which is the current Autotrader retail value (I’m a motor trader so know the value although I’m aware I could probably buy a similar car for £85K in todays market)

Looking like I'm about to become an Admiral customer. I've got the online quote sorted out and it's acceptable all things being considered. I was wondering if anyone had any success beating them down a bit via the phone?
