So I may have mentioned this months ago, but ever since i purchased my Taycan (brand new), ive had this warning come up intermittently.

As soon as you stop and put the vehicle in park, it goes away. The vehicle works perfectly, despite the message.

Post software update it appeared to have stopped, but now has become increasingly an issue. Every trip to work, (140 miles) its popping up.

I had porsche assist out, he couldnt help. Local OPC had it in a few months ago, no stored faults.

Anyways, its going into the dealer this month to have a look.

Has anyone else seen this message?

According to the dealer, there were no stored codes.

Its happening on my commuting journeys, not so much shorter journeys around home, however, prior to the software update, warnings were happening on shorter journeys aswell.

I don't fancy the dealers chances of diagnosing this tbh, but we shall see.

Its really impacting my ownership experience, as otherwise, its a great car.

Thanks for the help.

As this is happening on every journey and there are no stored codes, you may want to acquaint yourself with and reserve a position under consumer legislation rights.

I have briefly gone through this a couple of weeks ago.

The initial occurrence was outside the first 30 days. I picked the car up at new year and it occurred on my first long journey on Feb 18th. I reported the issue to the supplying dealer on that day.

Highly unlikely. Get a cable and scan it.

It is very much possible there were no *active* codes, but as the issue is intermittent, there will be an inactive code.

I will look to get a suitable obd reader 🙂

It might be a 12v battery or dc dc converter issue but many other possible causes. Like others have said PIWIS should be able to see the inactive fault codes and see if components are operating out of spec.

I did mention whether it could be a 12v battery issue when I saw them weds morning.

My car had been sat a long time at the dealership before I bought it, so it has crossed my mind.

Thanks for the link, it confirms what I was thinking.

I have a CTEK lithium battery charger which I use very occasionally if my car has been sat for a few weeks or I am going to leave it at the airport and I have not been on any runs. The 12v battery only charges when the car is in drive. If you sit in it and watch the battery voltage in neutral and then engage drive or reverse you will see the voltage jump up, or at least I can on my J1.2.

I do 2 140 mile journeys every 6-7 days, so it has long runs all the time.

Im thinking the 8-9 months sat at the dealership will not have done the 12v any good at all.

Very similar to me, and mine was at the dealership for 5 months before they registered it and put it on the road as a demonstrator/dealer principal car. No issues in the 12 months of ownership.

Get yourself a CTEK CS One charger and charge the battery then you can eliminate that.

The battery gets always topped up when the voltage drops below a certain amount. You don't need any kind of trickle charger. In Drive the voltage converter is just forced on all the time, but as soon as the voltage drops below a set threshold it gets topped up anyway.

It does absolutely nothing to it. It's a Lithium battery and it gets topped up each time the voltage goes below a certain number. In fact, there would be more wear on it if you would have driven it in that time rather than let it sit.

Bad advice, the Taycan does not need any kind of CTEK charger. Don't waste your money. It's actually actively harmful for a Lithium battery to keep it 100% fully charged all the time and will reduce it's service life. The Taycan does not have any lead-acid 12V batteries.

You guys don't even have a clue what's wrong with the car. You don't know that it has anything to do with the low voltage battery. Buying random shit is not going to solve the issue, and is not helpful in the very least. Correct diagnosis and then solving the problem (by bringing it to the dealer's attention) will be the solution. In fact due to the voltage converter being force engaged in drive and the issue occurring during driving you can rule out the 12V battery.
