Nice that’s actually pretty quick turnaround time. How many bad cell packs do you have? It’s bad that 6 weeks is a good timeframe but this is where we are at. Mine sat for 16weeks waiting to get fixed. When they could have just replaced the full battery within two weeks and it would have been less expensive. Really think they are just using cars now as training for techs.
Not sure on the number of cells, they think 2 or 3 had issues. Candidly I wish they would just put in a new battery and be done with it. I can picture getting the car back and having this happen again…

Yes that’s what I’m worried about as well as they replaced 12 of my cell packs.

What are the appropriate questions to ask the dealer on how to rectify this red light issue? How many cells are affected? What’s causing the Red Light, HV charger? Just guessing here so anyone who has been down this road already I’d appreciate some guidance

Make sure they drain the battery under 20% and let it sit over night then charge it back to 100. The faulty cells will only trigger codes after this has been done. The dealer should know to do this but I would ask if it was done.

A quick update
I got the red error the second time on Nov 7. Had to leave on vacation for 3.5 weeks and came back to a dead car. Jump started the 12v to get it in neutral and towed to dealer last Wed (using front tow hook — thanks for the tip). Range was about the same as I had left it on Nov 7 when I jump started.
The first time the error disappeared and there were no logs, or so I was told.
This time they have narrowed it down to a bad cell in HVB. They are now saying I have to wait on a Porsche engineer (what?) I am also without a loaner and it has been 4 days.
I finally got my car back yesterday after being at the dealership for approximately 75 days.
what was odd was it came back with 300 extra miles on the odometer. I am curious if anyone else here has had their car driven for so many miles to “test” it.
My SA is claiming they did the “necessary testing on roads and highways”. This feels unusual to me.

Can a few of you please share your thoughts if this is normal and how many miles you saw on your cars after battery module replacement?

About 15 miles for testing after change of 2 modules.

My car had an additional ~300 miles on the odometer. Would this “drain to 20%” to test be the reason for that many miles?
I’m waiting on an explanation from them but so far they’ve only told me it needed “some driving”. I asked my SA to ask the tech for a technical explanation.

Probably they needed to drain the battery twice to 20%. First time to identify the modules that needed replacement, 2nd time to verify everything is ok after the replacement.

They paid for the charging right and I guess filled it up before pickup? So I personally wouldn’t make a deal out of it. If it was a GT3 RS and wanted to keep a low milage, in that case it would be something to make a deal out of it.

Why do you need to drive the car to discharge the battery? I know with Teslas they just turn on the heater with windows open - cheaper than pay someone to drive the car for 300 miles, risk accident or road damage, etc.

Maybe the heater was broken ? not an uncommon issue.

How many miles on yours?
Believe it was somewhere around 4-500. Granted my car got shipped to another dealer to fix the issue and it was driven back to my house so that added another 100 or so. Wasn’t to happy with that decision after 4 months and couple hundred added miles already but didn’t feel like arguing about it. I know to test the cells after replacing they went from 100 to under 20 percent twice.
