My first post on the forum and it is already an exciting one ?

Past week i bought a Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo at Porsche Centre Antwerp Belgium.
I’m already a owner of the very limited Porsche 911 Belgium legend edition (Jacky Ickx):

But of course the 911 is not my daily driver. The Taycan ST will replace a Audi Q4 etron sportback.
While the Q4 etron is a nice and decent car the difference in quality and details is huge. So I’m quite excited to get it soon.
Normally delivery is in January and it goes straight away for Xpel PPF and a Gyeon threatening.

So I figured it was worth starting a thread for January 2024 deliveries.

My GTS has been sitting at Emden waiting on a transport to Benecia since November 24th. Does anyone know which transport ship usually does the Emden to Benecia route?

Check out the December delivery thread. That is a way more complicated question than it might seem. I would open a browser tab to https://www.vesselfinder.com/ports/DEEME001 and look for ships of type "vessel carrier". Click on each of them and try to figure out if any have a history of heading to America. I don't see any promising ones currently in port at a glance.

I was just hoping someone who took delivery into Benicia might read this and could tell me the name of the ship. I’ve been watching vessel Finder for more than a month.

That was sort of the point of my aiming you at that thread, as it lists three vessels that hit Benicia recently: Crystal Ray landed 27 Nov with @SECRET's Taycan, Gentle Leader 28 Nov with @tonyyang0420's, and RCC Classic 6 Dec with mine.

It's also worth noting that at least two of them went to Benicia first and then San Diego, which may or may not be predictive of the future.

How long is too long at the Emden port. Is 9-weeks acceptable for a $200K car to sit outside uncovered?

I don’t think you want Porsche’s answer to that question. They had hundreds of cars sitting around for most of 2022.

That's your call.

I wouldn't worry about which boat. Go and see your dealer and give them a deadline that you'll cancel on if not delivered.

It's a buyer's market now.

When did you place the order?

I'll repost what I did in the December thread. If you'd like to track your car, the best bet is to follow the instructions below to extract the IMO number for the vessel that is carrying your car.

On tracking your vehicle, here's a summary of how to do it:
  1. Once your car has reached Stage 8: Your vehicle has left German port on TYD (Track Your Dream), you will want to open the detailed view of the order so you can see your car actually on the ocean in the map view.
  2. Make sure whatever browser you're using is in Developer mode. There should be some type of "Web Inspector" mode in the Developer menu for whatever browser you're using to open up a view of the code for the webpage.
  3. In Safari for Mac users, you'll click on 'Network' then look for USMH###### where the # is your commission number.
  4. There should be two files. One is the actual source code for the page, and the second will be an xhr datatype that will have the info you're looking for.
  5. Once you find the xhr element, click on it, and it will open up a preview.
  6. There you will find your commission number, VIN, etc. Look for something like this:
    "currentLocation"
  7. In that section, you should find something called 'position' then 'ident' where there should be an IMO number.
  8. Take that IMO number a plug it into www.marinetraffic.com

It shipped out from Emden yesterday. I ordered it August 19. I’ll keep it because I like the build.

That doesn't seem bad in terms of time frame. Not very long ago people were waiting over a year just to get a build slot.

Enjoy it when it arrives.
