Check all of the comfort settings under locking in the PCM to ensure nothing is disabled.

Frunk hand swipe - see video in Owner's Manual - can be a faff.

Foot gesture - centre under bumper swing your leg in and out in a positive manner and then step back.

Key must be on your person.
thanks. Seems if you’re not executing the kick with Beckham like precision, I was going too slowly, it doesn’t work

Personally, I didn't like the Comfort Access when I had my Taycan.
It was too unreliable.

Sometimes I would walk up to the car and it wouldn't unlock, so I would have to stop and fish round for the keys in my pocket.
Or I would walk away and the car ddnt lock.

I think I just disabled it shortly after purchase and stuck with the key.

I don’t believe Taycan has lock on walk away feature. Did I miss that?

Yep - positive action and no bending - prevents false requests to open (or close).

Only the Macan EV (currently) has the "walk away and lock" feature for reasons only known to Porsche.

Unlocking the car (any Porsche) and not opening any doors, frunk, trunk or hatch will lead to auto locking 45 secs afterwards. Note that the power fold mirrors will remain extended if this happens.

Yeah, that is my understating but @Fish Fingers post he is referring to walk away lock that is why I asked if I have missed something.

I'm REALLY frustrated that we can't get key-fob based window closing/opening in North America.
Ridiculous that almost every car manufacturer has them except the Taycan. I have it on my OLD Porsches, but somehow new isn't better?

I sold mine a while ago now, so I may have forgotten the exact circumstances why I reverted to the key.

I do remember sometimes it wouldn't auto unlock on approach.
And I know sometimes I would walk away and see that the screens were still on and it hadn't locked.

I resorted to just using the keys and visually checking the mirrors had folded in when I walked away.

Is this specific to Canada?

All Porsches have this feature not least the Taycan.

My keyless entry wasn’t the best so for Jen 1.2 I didn’t even consider comfort access.
After reading this post I went on the porsche connect store UK and it can’t be purchased at all.

It’s the Americans fault. Apparently the NHTSA or something BS like that is the excuse. My guess is someone got hurt and, unlike Canada, there was a jury trial with a huge cash reward for the dumbass. In Canada we would have just laughed at the hoser! 😜

Good morning all. Nice to see this thread still going. Think I am planning taking the plunge at some point to try and access the features talked about here and was wondering if anyone could tell me if this mini pc/lap pad style thing would be capable of running the software needed. I use a MacBook Pro for all my daily stuff and don’t really want to side load windows and take up more space on it.

so this would be solely for car stuff.

It will be able to run it ... the question is, are you willing to work on a tiny 5.5" screen?
For that price you can almost get the equivalent entry-level HP/Acer 15" laptop with win 11, that will have some value if you plan to sell it on.

Keyless has not been trouble-free, many people had sensors failing or it just not working consistently. Manage your expectations i'd say.
