Update from me:
  1. PC phoned to say the Driver's Manual was available to collect
  2. Smart Lift does work. I cleared all prior locations (not ideal) and then figured that to set a new one you press and hold the lift button for the Smart Lift feature to spring into life (I seem to remember pressing once only but could be wrong).
  3. Energy flow (replacing AWD display on left tube of digital cockpit) now found under 'Trip' in the central display.
  4. Still using the brake discs rather than motor braking (unless I enable recuperation). I'm hoping this is normal.
  5. Battery SOC 85% still equating to a significant reported range reduction but I've only charged once since the update was applied. This must get back to what it was (and better ideally).

Seamless update for me. Some early observations:

- Alarming range reduction reported but assume re-learning will address
- brakes re-learning also and currently using rotors only and not motors
- Spotify linking and operation seamless
- Android Auto (wireless) works perfectly
- Require to re-pair mobile phone(s)
- no AWD display (expected) but no drive flow indicator (expected replacement)
- PCM display is a much better place to interface with
- Charger search filtering by power is a great addition
- rearrangement of buttons on lower display e.g. Park Assist on the right rather than left
- a couple of settings were lost: battery level on My Home Screen, door unlocking reset to driver's door only, Smartlift locations remembered but did not activate
- Park Assist audible tone changed
- My Porsche App works reliably plus the missing 'Manual' tab finally appears
- regen setting remembered
- Hard copy driver's manual on back order
- no doubt a few other things will present themselves over the next few days

As long as the range resolves itself and I get motor braking I'd say this was an excellent outcome overall - credit where credit is due.

I have the performance battery that is 79.2 kWh. Is that full 79.2 kWh usable or are there buffers built in that cannot be used to ensure the health of the battery?

Nope as the table above shows (same 10% headroom for Performance Battery Plus) - so unfortunately you'll only ever get access to 71kWh

I read somewhere that 71 kwh was the initial value in 2020. It was increase later to about 74 kwh.

Estimating the size of the battery based on the consumption, I also saw that it should be above 71kwh. More like 73-74kwh.

I don't think so - current published data (hasn't changed since 2020) for MY23 is as follows:

Porsche Taycan Latest Taycan Software Update Findings and Reviews Thread 1662733399506

Some folk are basing their consumption on incorrect useable battery so there are quite a few anomalies out there. The best estimate is the Total Trip figure captured by the car (and never reset).

Gents, I read the entire thread but can't find my case. turbo my2020. Got the car back for 30 mins only and parked it - had no time to play around/take screenshots. All seemed fine, coloured icons, faster PCM etc.

1km from the dealer a notification appears "online update available" , disappears after a few seconds. 20 mins after, I go into the "updates" icon/tab and it shows "ANA6 available for your car" plus a long message on the displays right side which explains to follow instructions, park the car, get out if needed etc etc.

how s that possible?

Depends what updates your dealer actually did (and completed).

Either ask your dealer or proceed with the OTA update if you can.

Just got my 2020 4S back from the dealership after its WNJ8 uPdate. It took two days but - at first glance - everything works very well. Almost all of my settings were preserved and I was delighted to have Apple Podcasts working again as a native function of the PCM. Only one element of confusion on my side: I understood from other forum members that the WNJ8 update came with a new car user manual (the fat booklet). The only documentation I received was a slim booklet called "General Precautions on Charging Hardware Installation" which I guess implies that the PMCC running hot is due to cheapo plugs and other shortcuts on the user's garage installation side... Other than that: happy camper.

You should get a new Owner's Manual but they are in short supply. Your dealer should contact you when are available.

Meantime just use the manual in the My Porsche App or web site which has been updated.

so far I'm favoriably impressed with the new software - I like the colors and I've not found any "new" problems and it does seem more responsive - also the Porsche connect app seems faster at communcating changes with the vehicle and getting status.

I have some familarity with the basics of this software from my wife's 2022 911 Convertible which clear shares the same PCM software base

I'm missing the torque split view - but remember reading somewhere it's buried someplace else now…I'll endeavor to find it.

it's clear not a step backwards - and it's clearly more responsive - I'm going to need more time with it however to see if my range improves - with my summer performance tires and the previous software I was down to 210-220 miles range with no clear reason - I'm hoping for a bump and maybe a return to the 270 miles I experienced when I road tripped with the car several times in 2020…270 miles is now a pipe dream 2+ years later and I'm not quite sure why.

so far so good and clearly better…

Let me know if you find the power distribution display as so far I've failed and it's MIA nor is it where Porsche states (central display).

My car is going in for the software update. I have a Blackvue Dashcam hardwired in the passenger footwell fuse box. Has anyone with a dash cam disconnected it before it went or any issue for having one when going in for the software update?
