Locking with people/animals in the car

So I need some advice. I have tried multiple times to lock the car but keep the passenger compartment alarm system turned off. I have used both methods describe in the manual for doing this. I've used the key and the driver's door lock proximity sensor. No matter how many times I've tried I never get the response the manual says I'll get. (two short flashes & one long flash) What am I doing wrong? Has anyone been successful with this?

Used to work for me. I don't have my Taycan but same operation on my 911 and Macan.

Press lock twice on the fob or door proximity sensor within 2 secs.

Perhaps your timing is off?

Thanks for the input. I doubt my timing is off. I've tried it dozens of times,

If you turn off the car manually, from the power button, it will pop a notification on the center screen as it turns off with a check box to turn off passenger monitoring. So you deactivate it from there.

That’s the only reliable way to do it

Yes, thanks I do use that option when I need the function but I'm just questioning why the key option doesn't ever work.
