I'd like to lock the car with a furry friend inside. Windows slightly lowered, and with the internal alarm sensors deactivated. I think the latter is done by turning 'safelock' off with 2 presses of the key fob after the car is locked.

Will that work or will the alarm go off once i've wandered off?

Thanks.

You only need to press the ‘Lock’ button twice in quick succession; not 3 times as you seem to have stated

It will work.

From the User Manual….

Locking.webp
Thanks. May have to just experiment with the windows.

i think the car needs to be locked, and then the 2 presses. At least that’s the way I can get the hazards to flash and something to go clunk anyway.

As per the manual, while unlocked, 2 quick ‘lock’ presses in succession will disable the interior sensor.
One long press on lock will lock and retract mirrors and windows.
One long press on unlock will unlock and lower all windows.
I think you can lower the windows before exiting and they’ll remain down when you lock.

Yes. I leave the car like this regularly. Just two quick presses of the fob. You can of course also leave the air con running (needs resetting via the app after 60 mins). I do this with a note left on the dash explaining car is air conditioned to avoid over eager passers by ‘rescuing’ our sleeping spaniel by breaking the windows. ?

Thanks. Just found that as an option in the pcm.

I've used this technique when leaving my 2 dogs in the car ad also put the aircon on and with the windows down a couple of inches.

Do be aware that unlike a Tesla (in ”dog mode”), the Taycan will power itself down after 30 min..

No idea why it does this, as an EV should “idle” comfortably all day. It is very annoying.
