London congestion charge

I’m finding conflicting information, do I need to pay congestion charge in London for my Taycan ?

you need to register your car - it used to be £10, and they took a couple of weeks to "process" it BEFORE you can drive without paying.

I have not bothered with this since as it is all a bit of a fuff

The terminology allows them to change the rules (and they will in a future year). Everyone pays the congestion charge if they enter. EVs can pre-apply for a discount, currently 100%.

also worth noting that from 25/12/25 the discount is being removed and EVs will be liable for the charge (currently £15/day).

The authorities in the UK are doing a great job with a 'race to the bottom' for offering absolutely no incentives whatsoever for private individuals to reduce their vehicle emissions.
