Hi - I'm based in the UK and have been without my Taycan Turbo S since the start of November.

Briefly, the car went dead whilst in store (I was away) and when recovered by Porsche assist it was said to have a dead 12v battery for which I had to pay! This took about 5 weeks to come and when fitted they then decided the car needed a new "Control Connect Module" - this took around 6 weeks to come. When this was fitted they have diagnosed that there is a faulty cell in the main HV battery which Porsche UK will repair. I have no time scale on this repair as yet.

Initially I had no loan car as I didn't really need one. However, in January I thought I'd take a loan car as I might as well put my local miles on their car and not mine! I've been given a perfectly nice Audi Q2 (1.4 petrol) but the longer this is going on it's winding me up that I own a depreciating £150,000 car and I'm driving a £40,000 car!! Is this the normal thing, that even with long term issues you don't get a car even close to what you own as a loan car??

To top it off our other electric car (an ID3) which I was using to go in and out of London during the Taycan's absence has also died (well, the front lights due to a faulty speaker!!) so I'm not feeling the love for our electric car future currently!

When I needed a loaner for some interior stuff, they gave me a Boxster the first time round, second time I ended up in an Audi A3, so it kinda differs. However, I would bring this up with the dealership and see what they can do?

Thanks - the dealer can't help with the loan car at all, it's Porsche through a rental company.

I get that the immediate priority is to keep people mobile and I'm not normally all that fussy but 3 months in it's getting rather annoying!!

It's the current lack of cars.
Enterprise sort out the courtesy cars and like used cars in general, there are very few around.
Porsche dealers also have limited courtesy cars currently.

Its why some people had to wait longer for heater repairs as there were literally no courtesy cars available (happened to me) even if the heater unit was in stock.

I then ended up with a clapped out Lexus hybrid from Enterprise as it was literally the only car my Enterprise centre had available over New Year.

However, for the length of time yours has been in, I would be going over the courtesy car section of the contract in some detail and then be looking to escalate it.

If the downtime is causing serious inconvenience, another thing some people consider is a short-term loan to bridge the gap—just enough to cover rental upgrades, travel, or unexpected costs. Services like fcloans offer quick and transparent loans for situations like this, letting you access funds without complicated paperwork. It can make managing these frustrating delays a little easier while you wait for your car to be repaired.
Wow, that sounds incredibly frustrating. Being without your Taycan for months while it’s being repaired—and then having to make do with a much less powerful loan car—would be irritating for anyone, especially when you’re used to such a high-performance vehicle.

From what I’ve seen, manufacturers often provide loan cars that are functional but rarely match the value or performance of your own car, even for long-term repairs. Some brands are better than others, and sometimes insisting politely but firmly on a closer match can help, but it’s far from guaranteed.

It’s also rough when your backup car ends up having its own issues—it really does test your patience with the whole electric car experience. Hopefully Porsche UK will be able to get your Taycan back soon and fully operational so you can put all this behind you.

Did an AI take over a 2023 forum account to make posts? For what purpose? Maybe a bot registered in 2023, and now using AI to make posts? To sell products? Spam forums?
