Lost Key

Got my new Gran Turismo - with 1 key fob only. Sadly lost it and no sign or information about a new one from dealer. It’s been 3 weeks now. Any advice about how to escalate. No key fob means no driving. Car is simple unusable.

Gran, assume you meant Cross?

Keys are on back order due to the general semiconductor issues.

Dealer may have a stash of keys for such eventualities and can pair another.

Yes - Cross. No “stash” available that dealer surfaced to me. And while I understand the chip shortage, mine is already delivered. And no visible workaround or even escalation that I’m aware of that might be helpful.

Sorry to hear OP.

No help to you currently, but I am one of the many with one key and pressed the dealer for a second as needed to drop the car and have wife pick it up, but no joy from Porsche any time soon.

In the meantime I have put a Tile on it to at least have some chance of locating it if lost.
I don't normally have Bluetooth and location switched on my phone when out and about, but doing so currently.

At first i'd like to prefer dealership, if they can't or charge high then any local locksmith for car key replacement.
Here in London i replaced my key from a local locksmith.

My dealer said the key comes from Germany tied to my VIN. They get a few a week. So I am not sure they can reprogram another key, but seems like that would be an important option with so many getting 1 key.

That's good to know. But it seems incredible that a local locksmith could replicate a Porsche electronic key fob. We aren't speaking of a "key", but the actual key fob.

You had a locksmith replace a Porsche Taycan programmable key fob? Please tell us how he or she did that?

Also, you have a 2014 Taycan? And you're located in Seattle, but you got the new key fob in London, and recently you were driving your Taycan over 100 on Sand Hill Road in Silicon Valley?
