please allow me the appropriate time to gather all of the necessary facts before providing you with a response.
Would it make sense to ask for PCNA to arrange for a Porsche loaner for that time? Or return your car in original shape while investigating.

The current protective layer doesn’t “sound/feel” very robust. There is a change to carbon fiber in MY25… I am curious what the tolerance and specs are on that vs the older ones.
Previous posts have said “glass fiber”, i.e. “fiberglass”? I don’t know about carbon fiber, isn’t that too brittle for an underbody shield?

I would keep leaning a bit on Porsche North America.. feels like a design flaw, you could point to the Tesla recall, and push them a bit on technical specs for dings etc. seems deficient for the job.

@Maelstrom happy to see that things are headed in the right direction.

I have been keeping up with the "show" and watching every episode as it comes out.

It reminded me of a story I read many years ago that I had not posted as to not distract from the very real issue but maybe now that things are turning here it is.

https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cu...ebuilding-his-engine-to-avoid-a-57000-repair/

And if any of you want to go down a rabbit hole click on the link to GRM and read the entire saga...quite interesting.

........ the worlds most expensive pictures showing a dent in the undertray which COULD have missed the lines in question (longshot but possible)
I think theres every chance it could have missed the lines.
0.3mm is such a tiny amount that I would be surprised if 3mm (nice round figure) is fine and dandy but 3.3mm causes catastrophic damage - with no warning lights.
Less than the thickness of a fingernail on a dynamic object that's constantly bending and flexing etc.

Good result anyway. Congratulations for persevering.

For a low riding large flat bottomed car – it's looking a bit delicate that a 3.33mm dent can nearly total it. Pity none of this came up in the 6 million km test driving in the middle east, arctic circle and death valley..

Would a Panamera survive a 3.33mm dent?

I would take my car to a different dealership. This dealership has done it's best to abuse you. Zero empirical evidence that there is a battery problem. Apparently no measurement of the indentation to the coolant passage. No fault codes. No abnormal temperature readings from the cells above the "damaged" channel. No explanation of the internal construction of the channel that would explain why the cooling capability would be compromised. I would insist PCNA transport the car to a different dealership. They came up with an inflated repair estimate based on nothing but a 3.3mm dent to the protection plate. Do you trust them to repair the car correctly?

I also wonder how many Taycans are driving around quite happily with a dent over 3mm in the plate?

With all the Taycans out there and billions of miles over 4 years, it's one of two things happening:

1. It's quite common and owners are driving round none the wiser.

2. It's a very rare occurrence.

Depending on the debris and its velocity (mainly direction) neither are likely to be better protection than and ally plate - though more likely to spring back :)
