I'm not at all comfortable taking the Year 2022 in December or possibly in 2023. I get this is mostly out of their hands, but I'm still paying full price -- feels like there needs to be some accommodation for Porsche. Thoughts?
I got this news as well yesterday. This is even my SECOND vehicle (felicity ace victim). The original at dealer date was March, then the replacement date was June, and through a series of delays it’s now December. I don’t live where it will be drivable in Dec., Jan., Feb., and sometimes March. I’m likely canceling. Who knows if they even show up in December at this point.

A post June 2022 build should be a MY23 car.
IMO, post August (after company summer vacation).
Mine was done on July 19 last year and it was MY21.
btw: i got the car on September 19. Since they promised delivery end of May, I got additional 2k€ discount from the factory + 2.5k from dealer.

My 4S was completed (CP 8.0) on September 9, 2020 and delivered in October, but was still a MY2020. However, that was in depths of the original pre-vaccine COVID storm, and was likely an exceptional situation in terms of model year cut-off.

This happened to a fair share of 2021s too (I took delivery Dec 23rd in Texas). Not excusing it, but also not surprising.
Yup I had one of the cars that entered production in June ‘21 and didn’t finish being produced until mid-November. My car arrived in early January of ‘22 and it was a MY21. Strange times….

From what I understand, any cars that entered production in July will be a 2022, and any after will be a 2023. Jrkennedy, do you know when your 2021 was built? If you took delivery in Dec of a 2021, that probably means I'll get a 2022. A bit bittersweet, but I'd rather get a MY 2022 without the $4k price increase, since I think these types of cars depreciate more on mileage vs. model year anyways
The MY will be based on when it starts production. Mine started mid-July (I forget exact date now). August break started one week later and car sat for months before finishing production in November!

I thought the exact same thing when my ‘21 was delivered in Jan of ‘22. The only problem was PCNA thought differently. I got *nothing* in the way of an accommodation and my dealer would have only been too happy to have me walk from the deal as he was sure he could have gotten a premium on a new, in stock, 4S regardless of my late delivery. As I said before…. strange times.

I would expect nothing. The delays are outside the control of your dealer, and to some extent, Porsche. What is more, this is a seller’s market right now, due to limited supply and very high demand. The dealers hardly need to do anything to move these cars once they have them on hand.

A news article from yesterday says that the original port strike agreement ruled out strikes until Aug 26.

https://www.leftvoice.org/germany-t...inst-inflation-pose-the-question-of-strategy/

It's possible because there's no long term agreement, that everyone's TYD that got pushed back to 11/4 on boat is to hedge against possibility there are further strikes after 8/26

Note the factory is closed from now until 8/26, so just happens that cars won't be able to be completed and shipped in these next 3 weeks

Hi, i just learned (from TYD) that my GTS is delayed from September to late December. I'm not happy about getting a 2022 model year at the end of 2022 or maybe 2023. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm seriously thinking about canceling and buying a used 4s.
You can't get anything else cool before that anyway. If you really think you want it, wait.

Yes, the accommodation should be MY23 build or a compensatory discount equivalent to one year depreciation. Personally, I would never accept a car delivered in 12/XX unless it was the next model year build.

Interesting that on the TYD website, it says ~12/9/22, but on the mobile app, it says it's passed through Benicia (port of entry for California cars?). I asked my dealer, and she said that it might be in port (US), then said, 'who knows,' and hang tight. How can Porsche be this disorganized -- I get the delays, but don't their systems all think the car is in the same place?

This reminds me of that scene in Caddyshack where Danny Noonan tells D’Annunzio…’heh, heh, heh, then you don’ get know Coke…’

Buyers have no leverage whatsoever in this market. Take what they offer or don’t. Porsche doesn’t care, as they’ll just sell it to somebody else.

Called dealer and Porsche, they simply don’t care your feelings, it’s what it is.
Plan to cancel my order. Wont accept getting an MY22 in 2023.

To think PCNA or your dealer owe you something because of delays they cannot control is bold.

Cancel your order, the car will sell and someone else will be happy to have it. I bought my 2020 in 2021 as a leftover. Not a single day while driving it did the MY of the car affect my experience. Just so happens I'm making a big profit on the sale of it as well.

I have a deposit on a CT4 that has endured the mother of all delays: it's a 2021, and I still haven't taken delivery. Again, I could care less about the MY. I'm happy to have the car once it arrives and expect nothing from PCNA or the dealer, if I gave it up it would be snatched up in a day, they're selling over MSRP used.

Honestly there is very little difference between the MY22 and the MY23 version....except for MY23 being more expensive! My MY22 is built pending delivery and I was delighted to squeeze in before the MY23 as it saved me approx £4K
