Matrix LED Activation Options

Now that Matrix is legal in the US how can we get the functionality activated on MY20? Paid for the function and am willing to pay for activation. I’m in DC area so if anyone knows of a shop that can do it please reach out. Thanks

They are out of Matrix lights. I ordered them for my CT January production but they got cancelled.

So far as I know they are not yet legal. DOT has to publish a final rule change to make them legal in the US. The Infrastructure bill gave DOT a 24-month window to publish the final rule making adaptive headlights legal.

I doubt Porsche will even look at enabling them until the final rule is published. Then it will depend on if the final rule would require any changes/tweaks to the Porsche LED-Matrix lights.

They were removed from mine just before hitting the freeze point. I'm assuming that was what happened to most folks. I'm jealous, let us know if yours actually shows up with the Matrix lights.

But there are many of us 2022 owners that do have the matrix option installed - I certainly have mine so still interested if there are ways to accelerate activation per OP's point..

I had the same type of tech re-coded on my M4 despite it being technically illegal but loved having it, so indeed as we are here or heading towards this tech now being legal I'd love to leapfrog and get it activated in my car. @gnop1950 however is spot on being not quite legal as yet.

However, its my understanding that access to the Porsche for (3rd party) coding is far more difficult than on the BMW platform and far easier for Porsche techs to see on PIWIS - if anyone knows differently please chime in ! Hopefully when officially legit we can ask our dealership to activate but I suspect it may take a lot longer for that option to actually be available.
