Interesting, the connect services are free in the uk as far as I can tellDepends if you e paid for the relevant Porsche Connect service and it may be region specific.
To be honest, I saw a YouTube video yesterday of a US Taycan opening the trunk (by tapping the button on the bumper) and the stupid garbage truck reverse sound was terrifying. Like why do they do this in the US?Not confirmed, but I have a feeling that there are US regulations that prevent "moving car parts remotely when you're not in the car".
I say this because my US Boxster also wasn't able to close its automatic soft-top roof or even the windows remotely without aftermarket devices, while it seemed that German Boxsters are able to do that from factory.
I don't know, but my best guess is liability. My US cars so far have done things like beep loudly when opening or closing the trunk, constantly reminded me that my seat belt isn't buckled (I would never drive without seat belt, it's automatic for me, shut up!), refuse to move pretty much any part of them while I wasn't sitting in the car, and all that while their European counterparts (same model and year!) exhibited none of these behaviors. To be honest, I saw a YouTube video yesterday of a US Taycan opening the trunk (by tapping the button on the bumper) and the stupid garbage truck reverse sound was terrifying. If you find someone, get them to add it to walk-away/auto locking too. Personally I think this is just a design omission, like intermittent doors re=locking when I touch the handle instead of opening, or car auto unlocking itself right after locking with door handle or even fob. Did you notice yet that the unfolding mirror stops unfolding if you open the door while it's moving, but only for a second, then it starts again?Anyone know someone at Porsche to get it added to the phone as an option??![]()
So no more drop down flatbeds after this guy sues? I was not far from this when it happened last week (but not driving on the same highway). My uneducated guess is that it's really easy to get sued in the US, even if the person receiving damages acted... shall we say... less than fully rationally.
Free in the sense that most are built into the price of the car but the subscription for some of the services expires after 3 years and PVTS requires an annual renewal.Interesting, the connect services are free in the uk as far as I can tell
yeah, that would be nice. I hadn’t noticed that.If you find someone, get them to add it to walk-away/auto locking too. I don't have the handles present automatically, so that my car doesn't unlock every time I walk by it in the garage with keys in my pocket. Because of this, when I open the door, it's right after the car is unlocked, so I see the mirrors stop for a second every time.yeah, that would be nice. I hadn’t noticed that.
