Be careful. The issue is not Mission Es
The issue is any of the 21’ options. I have Spyders on my GTS. It is possible to minimise damage on 21s but you have to be VERY careful. I have 3 v small scuffs on NSF after 7000 miles. 2 wheels have tiny scuffs that are not visible. I touch up with a little black paint.
The ONLY benefit of 21s is looks.
20s handle just as well. Less rumble noise. More comfort. Better range. Harder to damage.
The Michelins on my 4S 20s were better than the Pirelli 21s.
I overpaid for a 4 year Porsche wheel protection plan on my 21" Exclusiv wheels, 5 months in and haven't had to use it

At the risk of inciting some internet vitriol, besides the appeal of the Mission contrasting color combos, the 5 spoke wheel has been popular on lesser brands for decades now...

My mission e rims are perfect, but maybe that’s because I have aero winter wheels and tyres on atm so have only driven 20 miles in the mission e’s!

All the 21” rims look amazing and the spyders are stunning (and classic Porsche) but you have to be very careful to avoid kerbing anything with low profiles, just like you have to reverse into any space with a kerb to avoid damaging your splitter. You just have to be careful.

My wife drives a Range Rover with big all-season tyres so no kerbing there you’d think? Well you’d be wrong. I’ve just paid £400 for them all to be refurbed. I do it every time I change the tyres because she scratches them continuously.

The Taycan wheels should actually be easier to keep scratch free as I have the all-round parking cameras which are pretty good tbf. But that doesn’t mean I won’t ever be distracted and it only takes a small lapse in concentration for your heart to sink as you hear that crunching/grinding noise.

That’s why I just won’t park it anywhere without loads of room. Totally impractical for most people but if we’re heading anywhere with tight parking spots we take the RR. Those wheels will end up kerbed anyway.

FWIW those Mission Es are about the heaviest wheels known to man. They have to be double the weight of a well made forged wheel. Frankly shocked how Porsche made these.

Kerbing wheels has nothing to do with the type or size of wheel, and everything to do with how one drives. And pretty much any wheel scraped against concrete is gonna get damaged.

I’m surprised you say they’re heavy, as they are forged and a Porsche OEM wheel. The added mass may be for strength against bending, given the weight of the Taycan and aggressive driving?

i have not seen posted weights for any Taycan OEM wheel. Pretty sure Tesla’s Model Y 21” wheels (not forged) I have are much heavier.

You don't technically need the PSCB's for the Misson E wheels, it is a marketing decision by Porsche to require them for aesthetics or another mystery reason and the Mission E wheels will fit any of the brake setups offered on a Taycan.
Have you seen MISSON E's with stock brake and rotors? Looks like a child wearing clown shoes.

I recently went to a FedEx to weigh a Mission E wheel inside a box with some bubble wrap inside, and the total weight came out to just a little under 34 pounds (I think it was 33.5 if I remember correctly). So I assume the wheel itself weighed a little under 33 pounds.

I wonder why more people don't get the 21" Taycan Exclusive Design wheels? That's what I chose, both because I didn't want to be forced to pay for the super expensive PCCB upcharge, and I was inspired by the car show unveiling in my temp profile pic here. Admittedly, I didn't even know about the significance of the "Mission E" design when I first set my sights on a Taycan.

I don't know how these wheels would look on white, but they also can be optioned with the body color paint too (in various combos). I got mine in high gloss black with the stock red calipers. It's supposed to start production today, and I'm very excited!

I tend to agree with you, the 21" exclusive design accented in gloss black is what I have specced on my incoming car. of course I picked the PSCB brakes as well for other reasons, but was not forced to.

I placed an order for a carrera white Taycan with optioned mission E wheels as I fell in love with that combo. Received an allocation in March. Dealer now advises mission E wheels are "not available due to shortage of parts" and I need to select other wheels. Dealer suggests RS spyder design wheels or Taycan exclusive design wheels with aeroblades in carbon, but neither give a comparative look and it's a deal breaker for me. For those experienced with Porsche (I'm not), any advice on how to source Mission E wheels? Perhaps pass on this allocation & wait see if they become available? The dealer is factory-owned. Thanks

I sympathise.
I actually dislike most of the wheels offered for the Taycan and if the 21” Cross Turismo wheels had not been available when my CT4S order was fixed I would have cancelled too. I pretty well dislike all gloss black wheels with machined highlights.

They are roughly the same. No way that they are forged. They are a cast wheel.
