I have found that when on hours long rides the use of car play will eat a big chunk of the Iphone's battery, there is a very simple solution for this which is to plug the phone in.
This issue seems to be unrelated to that. My car is still in Emden and yet to be delivered.

Turning off all background and location services seemed to fix the issue for me, but I would expect those services are necessary for proper operation of the app when I finally do get the car.

As long as it doesn’t delay the electronics booting looking for an absent connection that is fine.

I do usually have my phone with me but only do 3 or 4 phone calls per week so I am never normally in the least bothered if I have left it at home.
I got one for my wife but she had always misplaced it or got a flat battery, usually both, so she gave up on it and went back to a land line wall phone, which has no battery and is bolted to the wall in the same place every time she wants to use it ?

It is a bit of a pain her not having one, she is the only member of the family we can’t necessarily contact but she hated the whole experience.
Make your wife the secondary driver with her own Porsche Connect ID and her own key. This way she'll have her own settings for most things.

The PCMs own LTE connection is entirely separate as you know so the car will still be online and all associated services available.

No boot issues and the phone concern is not a worry.

Ha! We dropped in at the dealer a few days ago on our way by and when she saw how big it was “in the flesh” she said she wouldn’t ever drive it!

Last time she drove me was from my brother’s farm near Moffat to her brother’s house near Kemnay but that was in her Prius and I was feeling ill so asleep!

I'm sure when she sees the shiny Green Hornet on the driveway she'll soon change her mind and find any excuse to go for a spin!

She has no interest in cars or driving other than necessity! Her car resembles a mobile garden shed inside :)
