How do you all have your app configured for location? I initially had it as always connected but have now changed to connect while using app. I don't mind if this slows down the speed of connecting to the car (if indeed that is one of the drawbacks).

What difference does it make if the app is always connected versus only connected while using?

Does it increase the amount of communications between car and app? I did read some issues where people left the car for a while and due to communication with car, they were concerned it caused a drain on the 12V battery.

Thank you

I also have it set to 'connect while using the app' and normally have the app closed.
I'm not sure how much difference this makes.
Last night I forgot to lock my car so I opened the 'My Porsche' app and clicked the 'Lock' button. It took maybe 15 seconds to finish locking the car. I have not done an A/B test to see how long it would take if the 'My Porsche' app was already running.

Setting the locations to always on will use more battery on your phone for sure. I don’t believe there is a 12v concern with the car following the various updates applied since the 12v issue first appeared (not clear either if there ever was a correlation nor was it a root cause).

I tend to have apps active when in use only.

Agreed re status of apps in use but was actually interested to test 'always on' for the MyPorsche app (as I think they recommend that, not that I would nec follow such advice) - so turned always on on and also left Bluetooth, Local Network, Background App Refresh and Cellular Data all on for the app.

Have noticed zero effect with the car (again these were all on for the 5 week marathon Custom shop visit too) but indeed may effect the battery life on the phone - i can still get through a full day's use so not a major impact in usability - however the MyPorsche app effect not 100% clear as TBH I have a ton of other apps 'on' in the phone and have yet to test turning most if not all off to see if there is a significant battery life improvement.

Sorry if I wasn't clear but I do the same. With My Porsche.

Suspect leaving location services always on won't impact anything untoward as My Porsche will simply sleep and won't be polling the car continually.

Since last ONA5 update, my Porsche app is missing information.
- under the car icon, battery status is now gone
- charging in fonctions has also disappear.

Any of you know how to reset it all??

Me too. The car hasn't updated for 4 days. Tracker isn't working either.
No-one at the dealer, or Connect support, knows anything about this.
