Granted, you’re spending most of the time behind the wheel, so the exterior is almost irrelevant.
I'm just having some fun. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I agree that most of my time is behind the wheel - but those moments walking up to, and getting to enjoy the sight of a gorgeous car are just amazing.

Feels good once you’re inside but it’s also nice to look at from afar.

What an analogy

I think I might be the only one on here that legitimately prefers the new design. I just don’t think a Porsche should have plastic like the gen 1.

They both work; they’re just different. The T.1 framed the front vertically [and still does with the new Turbo models] while the T.2 accentuates the width.

And while the vertical slits are taken away, the extra cut above the wheel arches adds an element from the original Mission E concept.

If I were to assign human characteristics, the .2 has a not as sexy flat fender nose job that doesn't match its voluptuous rear.
The .2 turbo went full Pete Burns.

I like the new styling a lot more. I like cars with edges, the new styling has more, easy win.

Someone has already said - the vast majority of people won't notice any difference. I was in a car park last week and an older person who I vaguely know said "....like your car, is it an Alfa Romeo" :)

Old facia looks like a hyper/exotic car. Current facia like sports car. Both very ‘Porsche’, so both are nice IMO.
Totally agree with you on this. Furthermore, I suspect over time the original will start looking dated, purely because it's been around for so long. I remember when Tesla Model S refreshed their front end and replaced the nose-cone. At first the new one looked like a muzzled version of the old one, but over time it grew on me and the old one started to just look old (I had both versions, 2 of each actually). Such is life. When I was young, I thought the Ferrari 308 GTS looked real modern, almost futuristic. Today it just looks old, still cool, but old. ?‍♂

The fake vents at the back are not my cup of tea, but a welcome change to separate RWD,4S and GTS from the higher end Turbo variants. It is kind of crazy that the difference of +-70k is not visible on old gen.
I was never a fan of fake vents. It was actually a big reason why I got a Taycan Turbo and not Turbo S. Then again, I couldn't care less is different trims looked any different at all - probably because I don't buy my cars to advertise to other people how much I paid for it or which trim it is. Personally, I think all trims should look the same, with all the goodness of Porsche personalization to make each car look however the customer wanted it to look, rather than advertising how much they paid for it. This differentiation actually annoyed me with the Taycan, I wanted a Turbo for the performance, but I find silver of glossy black window trim functionally inferior (reflects too much sun into my eyes when driving in places like Colorado) to the matte plastic, but unfortunately matte black was not an option on my CT Turbo (only available in lower trim as the default). All that said, I get that some people buy cars as status symbols and to impress others, so I get why those people want to the more expensive trims to look distinct.

What about the badge on the rear?
Different diffusor styles, carbon/paint.
Different front splitter.
Different front wings, carbon/paint.
Different sills, carbon/gts/paint.
?
Spoken like a true Taycan aficionado. Most people will confuse Taycan with Panamera (had it happen to me recently actually, a guy pulls up to me at the light and tells me he loves the car and that a Panamera like mine will be his next car - to be fair, my car has no Taycan badges, even the hood ornament is from a 928 manifold intake - I liked monochrome hood emblems before Porsche invented turbonite). Even to most Taycan fans, they cannot distinguish the trims without the badges.
