Have you considered test driving one with RAS? It can make the car feel smaller.
I am not sure how easy to find a base Taycan with ras

Perhaps test drive even a non-base with RAS vs. non-RAS to first find out if it's an option you should bother looking for. Nothing worse than buying a car and having this "one option regret" hanging over it. If you test drive it, you are going into this with your eyes open.

Yeah. That’s what I was just told too. TBH I didn’t even think about this scenario when I signed, but I still feel ok about the decision. I saved 3400 over the 24 months. Also, I believe it’s the difference between your payoff and market value. The way one pay leases work, your lease pay off is initially very low. My layoff right now is 75xxx. If I totaled it today, I think market value would at least be in the 90s, so I don’t think I’d totally lose my shirt
Interesting

So what happens if you return the car early to get another Porsche lease (pull ahead)? Do you get any money back as you prepaid the lease altogether?

Regards

John

Yeah. You won’t get anything back. Question is weather id get more than 3400 back? I was able to get another 2700 off from welcome to Porsche on our Mach E Ford options “lease”.

You are absolutely right. I just spoke to Porsche financial again. They do subtract the unused portion of your one pay amount while determining the payoff amount. My insurance also told me that their payment is purely determined by the value of the vehicle at the time of total loss. The lease company will receive the payoff amount and the rest will go to the insured if the lease payoff is less than the apraised amount.

Yes. So that definitely makes it easier to swallow.

In a city drive (like most of mine are), with lots of slow driving, slow turns, and other vehicles, the size and mass are factors and cannot be hidden.
The irony of sorts is that my 4CT is far more maneuverable and fun to drive at low speeds than my wife's i4 M50.
Part of that might be the RAS on my Taycan.
But whatever it is, far smaller turning radius on the 4CT than the externally smaller i4.

I have a nice 2023 BMW I4 ev40 in tanzanite blue, M-Sport with only 19,000 miles on the odometer. I happened to test drive a 2025 base taycan at a neighborhood Porsche dealer and was blown away by its suspension calibration, handling, and steering feel.
As I wrote on the i4 forum, you need to add to your comparison a used i4 M50 and/or new i4 M60.
My 4CT certainly handles better than our i4 M50, but the gap isn't all the big, although I suspect the gap is bigger compared to the i4 e40.

Then RAS must make a big difference. The car I first tested had it, the car I bought used unfortunately didn't.

Not the same thing as maneuverability when driving, but getting in/out of tight, older garages in a city is sometimes dicey. Almost curbed my wheels this morning making an impossibly tight turn to get into a garage (literally had almost an inch on each side), perhaps RAS could've helped on that turn. The car is big for Chicago older city garage entrances and tight ramps.

^ Yes, the Taycan is still a bigger car compared to the i4 once actually squeezing into that parking spot. But for turning around in parking garages, etc., the turning radius differential is massive. Really takes some adjustment when using my wife's i4. And if anything, the turning radius of my Taycan is not used to its maximum potential since so many times I think to myself, No way am I going to make this, but turns out I could have.

I also just love driving the Taycan in city driving, even the 15mph college campus service road we take to place tennis. (Ball hopper on a bike is just too uncomfortable, plus a bit dicey holding the bike handlebars with just one arm.)
First time I drove my Taycan, I drove four trips in sequence of ~20 min at ~20mph avg. I thought it would be annoying, but instead it's my favorite vehicle for that kind of driving. (And of course even more of a favorite on highways!) Only drawback is that suspension is not as plush on major potholes as the i4, and neither is anywhere near our A6ar.
