Perhaps test drive even a non-base with RAS vs. non-RAS to first find out if it's an option you should bother looking for. Nothing worse than buying a car and having this "one option regret" hanging over it. If you test drive it, you are going into this with your eyes open.I am not sure how easy to find a base Taycan with ras
InterestingYeah. That’s what I was just told too. TBH I didn’t even think about this scenario when I signed, but I still feel ok about the decision. I saved 3400 over the 24 months. Also, I believe it’s the difference between your payoff and market value. The way one pay leases work, your lease pay off is initially very low. My layoff right now is 75xxx. If I totaled it today, I think market value would at least be in the 90s, so I don’t think I’d totally lose my shirt
I just happened to stumble upon a thread on leasehackr where people say one doesn’t get money backInteresting
So what happens if you return the car early to get another Porsche lease (pull ahead)? Do you get any money back as you prepaid the lease altogether?
Regards
John
Yeah. You won’t get anything back. Question is weather id get more than 3400 back? I was able to get another 2700 off from welcome to Porsche on our Mach E Ford options “lease”.Interesting

Thank you: a very interesting demonstarionYes, it's a very sporty design for a big car- so very wide, very long, and short in height. Took swoopy design to a 4 seater sedan. It's proportionate, just big.
Check out carsized for a comparison

The comparison views are very telling.
You are absolutely right. I just spoke to Porsche financial again. They do subtract the unused portion of your one pay amount while determining the payoff amount. My insurance also told me that their payment is purely determined by the value of the vehicle at the time of total loss. The lease company will receive the payoff amount and the rest will go to the insured if the lease payoff is less than the apraised amount.Yeah. That’s what I was just told too. Yes. So that definitely makes it easier to swallow. You are absolutely right. I just spoke to Porsche financial again. The irony of sorts is that my 4CT is far more maneuverable and fun to drive at low speeds than my wife's i4 M50.In a city drive (like most of mine are), with lots of slow driving, slow turns, and other vehicles, the size and mass are factors and cannot be hidden.
As I wrote on the i4 forum, you need to add to your comparison a used i4 M50 and/or new i4 M60.I have a nice 2023 BMW I4 ev40 in tanzanite blue, M-Sport with only 19,000 miles on the odometer. I happened to test drive a 2025 base taycan at a neighborhood Porsche dealer and was blown away by its suspension calibration, handling, and steering feel.
Thank you very much for the feedback! The irony of sorts is that my 4CT is far more maneuverable and fun to drive at low speeds than my wife's i4 M50.
Part of that might be the RAS on my Taycan.
But whatever it is, far smaller turning radius on the 4CT than the externally smaller i4.
Then RAS must make a big difference. The car I first tested had it, the car I bought used unfortunately didn't.The irony of sorts is that my 4CT is far more maneuverable and fun to drive at low speeds than my wife's i4 M50.
